Not sure if groovy is the word I'm looking for--I think it is--but I'm looking for some headbang-able, heavy as fuck extreme metal (probably death metal) with...well, a groove. Stuff that sounds like the opening riff to this song:

I'm not looking for noisy blast beat stuff like what comes on at about 1:10 in the above song, or anything super duper technical.

Hit me with your best sledgehammer.

I'm currently listening to The Crown. Their Second and third album is something you could look into. Their fast, and a mixture of Death and Thrash Metal. The production would add the groove factor in one way or another, so I would give them a try if you already haven't.

That sound is seriously what I look for in death metal. So awesome. Umm yet kinda rare to be honest. I'm going to just recommend stuff that sounds nothing like that but gets the same vibe for me. Probably grind-y stuff would be the best bet. There is seriously just no one who does that groove/bounce like Hull.

The Rotted - Get Dead or Die Trying (some solid groove, quasi-hardcoreish)
Nails - Unsilent Death.
Enabler - Eden Sank to Grief.
Maybe Anal Cunt's 40 More Reasons (due to Hull's participation in it)

I want to see where this thread goes.

Seconding The Crown, Enabler, Nails and Dying Fetus. All great stuff. All groovy, death metally stuff.

Adding:

Entombed
Hail of Bullets
Bolt Thrower (could count as groovy I guess, mostly for Those Once Loyal)
BENIGHTED!!!
Bloodbath
Mid-era Napalm Death

These are all groovy dm but none sound like Pig Destroyer's track :( It's so hard waiting for their new album.

I suppose I was wrong. It was a little jump-start, though :D.

It won't be considered extreme but Dreaming Neon Black by Nevermore is a great example of Groove.

No idea, the name just occured to me, dug Unhealthy Opera out yesterday.

Recent Decapitated are a good pick, too.

This isn't necessarily similar to the Pig Destroyer track you posted, but death metal with sledgehammer riffs and crushing grooves brings the following to my mind:

Dying Fetus
Devourment
Defeated Sanity

Maybe Azarath and Uncleansed too. Some of these bands might be a little busy for your liking, but they do wield skull crushing riffs. Insidious Decrepancy also brings the riffs like nobody else, but if you're not looking for technical guitar work it could rub you the wrong way.
