You all know the band but do you know their music? And how would you rate each album individually?
Lets discuss Anthrax now that they returned with a spectacular - and slightly controversial - album.

Here's my list:
1 - Among the Living 99/100
2 - Worship Music 90/100
3 - Spreading the Disease 85/100
3 - State of Euphoria 85/100
5 - Fistful of Metal 75/100
6 - Persistence of Time 65/100
7 - We've Come for You All 60/100
8 - Sound of White Noise 50/100
9 - Stomp 442 35/100
10 - Volume 8 30/100

At least I reevaluted Persistence of Time giving it 10 more points than I initially thought.

Good band! Persistence of Time is my favorite, although all of the classic albums are really good. Plus, Worship Music, surprisingly, isn't half bad either.

Never put too much time into them, but I love Spreading the Disease and Among the Living, and The Sound of White Noise is pretty good too.

Good band really. No complaints for me I'm going to pick up State of Euphoria tomorrow just to check it out, I love Among the Living and Spreading the diseased- and in spite of the age of Fistful of metal it's coming around.

Yeah, seriously and let me explain why. Spreading the Disease is a great album but it's more a speed metal album than a thrash one and I prefer Anthrax in Thrash-mode. And since Worship Music has more thrashy bits (and better melodies, imho) I had to place it above StD.

Ho, and there's obviously an exception to my liking Anthrax in a thrash-mode and it's Called Persistence of Time which - apart from 3 songs (including a cover!) - is a boring album.

If there's a boring Anthrax album with Belladonna, it has to be State of Euphoria, not Persistence of Time.

I like both SoE and PoT.

Only early album of theirs that does not 100% grab me is Fistful of Metal. It's ok but very hit and miss.

So I'm the only person that thinks Worship Music is a huge old pile of stinking dogshit?

Fair enough. Wasn't expecting that though!

I meant to say I wasn't expecting to come on here and find out everybody liked it.

I bought it blind without hearing anything from it, or knowing anyone's opinion. I thought it was a shit-fest and then came on here expecting everyone to agree with me. Was surprised to discover the praise it's receiving.

Maybe, for once, the majority is right and you were just expecting something from Anthrax they're not willing to deliver anymore.
I certainly can understand why a thrash devotee such as yourself is not finding satisfaction with Worship Music which IS NOT a thrash metal album but a damn good one nonetheless.

Hey, i'm pretty open minded.

Besides the various non-metal genres I listen to, I listen to a shit ton of metal that isn't thrash, from traditional to brutal death, progressive, whatever.

Besides, there's also a lot of bands I've still enjoyed through drastic stylistic changes. Metallica, Kreator, Black Sabbath etc. There are tons.

It doesn't really bother me that Worship Music isn't thrash, it's just that it sounds like shit to me.
