Maybe; but it's not as bad as Machine Head.

And The Blackening is just as bad as the rest.

Before having wild, crazy, sex with my 7 stripper girlfriends, I learned that bad /= gay. You should figure that out too, it might get you up close and personal with your very own Jasmine, Jade, Summer, Krystal, Bambi, Roxy, and Syndy.

Damn. Oh well, that explains why I couldn't impregnate her with my glorious male seed!

Every time I listen to their latest I keep tuning out and going back to the new Anthrax and Mastadon releases instead, it's ok but I suppose they just don't appeal to me as much anymore.

Anymore? The "epitomy of GAY" once appealed to you?

Since when did Machine Head become the "epitomy of gay". You may not like their groove metal or what they've become since but, come on!, The Blackening and Unto the Locust are anything but gay (considering "gay" is an insult, which it's not).

They've been gay since Rob Flynn started rapping on their nu metal shit, and recycling Master of puppets riffs on their album before "The Locust" cemented their place in the halls of mallcoredom. They are a shitstain on the ass of Satan much like you.

That wasn't rapping, dummy. Nor was it nu-metal.

I won't deny that but can someone tell me where those daddy issues lyrics are on The Blackening?

The Blackening is pretty solid. But despite the lyrics not being daddy issue bollocks, the track Slanderous reminds me of daddy issue bollocks.

They have like two songs where Rob writes about his childhood. So that of course makes them a band who does it all the time. Kind of like how The Burning Red is a rapcore album, even though only two songs even remotely resemble that kind of music. And even then the term "rapcore" is really pushing it.

Of course, the people that complain about "daddy issues" lyrics like power metal and black metal and other styles where bands nine times out of ten have some of the lamest, most laughable, insipid lyrics ever written.

But I guess dragon and demon issues are better than daddy issues.

Daddy issues so is this a sign of a new niche "Daddy Metal"

That's essentially all Korn did.

I liked The Blackening. It was decent for what it is but the metal they create just lacks replay value. It just gets old. I've seen 'em live twice and I just ended up yawning last time.

It's not, but it is really good. Blabbermouth always give Roadrunner releases an overrated review.

Listened today. Pretty good, up until the worst children's choir I've ever heard. I'll save the Rush cover for after work, that should be... interesting.
