Loving it too. I already loved Damnation which was similar but slightly better. But Heritage seems to be a grower so everything's fine.

Yep, good album. The 'god is dead' bit still comes over badly, though.

I love Opeth but awful and boring is how I would summarize Heritage. Folklore is the only song that's any good.

What I've heard of it hasn't sold me on it. There are plenty of other bands out there that do this sort of thing a lot better.

Agreed, could have done without that.

I'm still waiting for it in the mail. I've only heard The Devil's Orchard and loved so I expecting to really like the whole album. Damnation was also one my favourite Opeth albums so I am very, very optimistic about this.

Didn't grab me after the first listen.

Give it quite a bit of time.

I didn't like it at first either but it eventually clicked.

Yeah, it's not the album that you'd expect from just hearing Devil's Orchard.

It's completely fine for certain moods but I hope Akerfeldt's next album brings back the metal.

And I think Damnation was better.

I literally fell asleep the first time I listened to it, I'm not even exaggerating. And I like Damnation.

Come on, I can't be alone in thinking this sucks?

It doesn't suck, it's just the guys of Opeth paying their dues to their 70s influences.
The first listens are a little bit of a downer but it's a grower, albeit a slow one. I know it took me 4 spins to have it to work but I felt the potential from the very start.
If you're not allergic to 70s prog rock, don't force it but give it a spin once in a while, I'm sure you'll be rewarded.

Haven't had a chance to hear it more than once but it seems pretty good, shame they put the bonus tracks on the DVD once again though and not on the CD.

Yeah, like Orne. Although their new one didn't grab me neither, but maybe it needs more time. Loved the debut though.

My problem with Orne is the vocals, they're not passionate enough for the kind of prog they play. What they need is a vocalist like Peter Hammill of Van der Graaf Generator. That said, I really enjoyed their new album.

it's an alright album to me, it has a cool concept of having 70's prog mixed in but at the same time watershed was 10x better then this.

Listened to this album today and it's just so cool. I feel like I should be sitting on my deck on a hot summers day, drinking wine and blazed out of my mind, playing it loud enough for the neighbourhood to hear and enjoy, bobbing my head approvingly at the riffs, smiling contently at the rest.

Also I didn't know Orne had a new album. Not sure how I feel about them after listening to their debut a bunch of times but I'll check it out.

Another Damnation with Watershed influences, that's how I see it.
Didn't like it at all at the first, second and third listen, maybe the 'click' would come, but i doubt it.

I think I'll skip this one...
