I've been really into Tomas Lindberg lately and have been listening to a lot of lock up, at the gates, and the crown. Who are some of your favorite extreme metal vocalists? When I was younger I was really into Hypocrisy and I really dug Peter Tagtgrens vocals and thought he was great. Maniac and Dead from Mayhem are also great for me as well. I really like Maniac's vocals as they just come deep from inside you.

Mikko has a very distinctive voice, quite easy to recognize. And his own style.

The people already mentioned are indeed very good mentions and I totally agree with them. To name a few more with character and distinctiveness:

Proscriptor (Absu)
Shaftiel (Absu)
Ihsahn
Mikael Åkerfeldt
Mirai Kawashima (Sigh)

Ihsahn? really? His voice is quite distinctive, but weak.

I love all his vocal performances. On the contrary I think he has a very powerful voice. He sounds like a man in deep agony and pain and at other times in utmost melancholy and despair.

also Rainer Landfermann of ex-Bethlehem. He is one of the most underrated screamers and one of the best. Those crazy screams are bone chilling.
