Honestly I think Muhammed is an excellent song writer. I'm not gonna pretend that he surpasses Chuck Schuldiner in that department, but every single Necrophagist song has its own identity.

Necrophagist playing DM is like Bach or Pagannini playing extreme Metal. True, the technical masters and the beginners of technicality will never fade away but what I think becomes ridiculous is when bands cannot connect technicality with melody and structure that cannot release harmony and order. It becomes ridiculous when a band is playing just for the sake musicianship and being "overly-technical" for the sake of just being technical which is an end to itself and nothing more (a band like Crimson Massacre).

No. I wasn't saying Necrophagist is in that category at all. Frankly, they're quite the opposite with melodies and structure that makes a lot of sense. Necrophagist is an excellent band. I'm a big fan.
