I had to come up with this one as soon as I plopped in my rerelease of Clients by The Red chord. We all appreciate good unreleased songs or different versions of songs, but what are some of the most useless demo songs, live tracks, or different recorded banter you have on rereleases?

I don't know any useless bonus tracks/demos but I absolutely love the covers and demos on the end of the slaughter of the soul edition that has all of the demos and covers.

Unless it's a different song to what's on the album I find bonus tracks a waste of time.

The most useless in order are:

1. Sound only DVD tracks
2. Video clips that can only be viewed on a computer and that usually don't work
3. Live tracks
4. Demos of the songs on the album. Really who gives a shit?

I've got lots of bonus tracks (e.g. all of my Atheist except Jupiter). When the album finishes I turn it off before the stupid bonus tracks come on.

The demo bonus tracks on Tales Of Creation by Candlemass are hideous.

"Life and Times of a Bonus Track" off the Edguy King of Fools release sums this whole topic up pretty well. Check it out if you havent heard it before.

I agree with that. I don't mind live tracks of songs that are not part of the album. I also despise "remixed" tracks in which we can barely make out the difference. Altars Of Madness is a classic example. I hate having the same song twice on an album, however good.

Has anyone ever heard the Luke Kenny remixes of early death metal stuff like Morbid Angel?

Behemoth's Satanica has given me issues as the entire album literally has forty 5 second bonus tracks, and while the album itself isn't that great for a Behemoth record- the bonus tracks really suck the replay value right out of it.

average by Behemoth standards, it is better than their newest offering though.

I think it's easily their best one.

+1. Demigod is awesome, ZKC has some great tracks but Satanica is ace.

Too each their own bro, I've got nothing against the album. Zos Kias Cultus and Demigod are two crushing death metal albums though.

Satanica, Thelema.6, Zos Kia Cultus and Demigod are excellent DM albums. I don't believe the quality of these albums differ vastly at all!

Nachtmystium's Reign of the malicious has a couple of shoddy live tracks as well- they aren't completely horrible but not something worth two song spaces.

I'm okay with bonus tracks, but I'd rather have them on a separate disc.

If it's on one disc it ruins the flow of the album.
