Layered and very original sounding, what else can I ask for?

Bought that one on my iPad the other day. Sounds good.

Listening to Equilibrium - Saga now. Fucking godly.

Neither can I. I love the percussion and the whole Arabic vibe. It's kickass.

Not a bad album.

Geez I'm such a commercial whore. While everyone plays underground stuff, I'm listening to just the commercial stuff ala Slayer and Megadeth.

Ever listen to Jon Oliva's Pain? Pretty similar to alot of Savatage's stuff with Jon on vocals and actually using alot of riffs that Criss Oliva had recorded before his death on some tapes Jon found in a box.

I've never given Jon Oliva's stuff a good listen but I will look into it tonight. I've followed TSO, Chris Caffery, and the Doctor Butcher project though. There's just a magic that's missing without Criss. His approach to guitar was rather special for that time period. So when I say that 'I miss them' I suppose I mean that we'll never know what brilliance we've missed out on since Criss' death.

Jon Oliva's Pain: Through the Eyes of the King - now this sounds like Savatage...
