It doesn't exist, but Tom G Warrior and Darkthrone getting together to record a joint follow-up to A Blaze In The Northern Sky and To Mega Therion would be the best thing ever. A Blaze In Mega Therion it would be called, and all music would stop, for perfection would be reached and everyone would just listen to that.

No need.
We have Panzerfaust.

Yet another album for me to check out, is it really that good?

It actually is quite good, their last truly great one.
Definitely worth checking into.

+1. Excellent album.

Bon Iver--Bon Iver, Bon Iver

This album is great. Haven't listened to it enough to give a firm assessment, but I can say two things. One, the feel is similar to the first album (sad, super powerful). Two, the execution is completely different...For Emma was guitar and singer, this is instruments and effects and keys and hoopla and a lot of stuff and it's much more interesting, sonically, for all the bells and whistles. If you like music, check this out.

I should probably check out that Bon Iver album. Kind of liked his first one but dunno. Never really clicked with me. Acoustic music with high pitched dude singers makes me spend a lot of time envying the guy's voice. :(

MINE FAVOURITE:
Letlive - Fake History
Really great post-hardcore. Absolutely love the singer's variety and power. It's turned into one of those albums I look forward to listening to every day.

Goddamn, this album is addicting. Can't stop fucking playing it. I agree, the singer pretty much makes the band, and I absolutely love it because I've always wanted to like bands like La Dispute and mewithoutYou but could never get past the vocals. Letlive probably don't match the musicianship of those bands, but they're rly good.

Only gripe is Casino Columbus, which is boring. But damn, "Le Prologue/Sick Sick 6.8 Billion", "Enemigos/Enemies", and "Day 54" are all absolutely incredible.

Seriously Day 54 is one of the best closing tracks ever. Don't know why, but when the drum pattern changes at like 4:20, I die. Rhythmically, could be a dance or hip-hop song or something but it ends up sounding apocalyptic.

wooooooooooooo good stuff

So yeah, this is becoming one of my favorite albums I've heard in the past few years, mostly after I've taken the time to get to know the band a little bit. Their live show is absolutely nuts; they officially join the "bands I have to see before I die" list.

Also, lyrics are fantastic. If anyone else has gotten into them, check this out:

http://theletlivecrew.wordpress.com/201 ... orylyrics/

The lyrics, yeah, but go down to the comments and you'll find the singer giving really interesting answers to questions about the lyrics. So damn cool.

Been on a bit of a post-hardcore binge, actually. Also REALLY digging Dance Gavin Dance's "Downhill Battle Mountain" (finally clicked with me, for some reason) and I just got Touche Amore's new one. Fuck yeah.

After listening to a week of Martyr, Immolation and Ulcerate this album caught me by surprise in how good it is, not that I'm tired of excellent Death Metal by any means. It's been a month of epic Doom Metal and Atmospheric/Technical Death.

I should check out Downtown Battle Mountain again because I ruv Jonny Craig so I'd probably like it this time around.

I tried really hard to like those guys but the mixture of power metal and doom doesn't work that well. Maybe I need to hear more songs off of Vast Oceans, but the vocals really suck and the song lengths aren't helping these guys either. Touche Amore are really good by the way

Hmmm... Yeah I understand what you're saying. I am by no means a fan of power metal either (well, maybe the early days of getting into metal) but WHW are between the excellent boarders of brilliant Epic Doom Metal with Progressive elements which I know you're not really a fan of mixed with what I think is very good vocal melodies that carry the the direction of the guitar melodies very well. The album has incredible depth and outstanding melodies and I must add very precise and fairly intricate drumming. Although the Power Metal influences specially on the vocals are quite strong and one has to either get over that and enjoy it for what it is and let it grow on him, or dismiss the band altogether which will be a shame to remember :D

You probs would. Jonny kills on some parts of the album and just croons on others, but overall does pretty well. Jon Mess (the screamer) is bad--he has this low-to-high kind of scream that reminds me of the sounds my dog makes when he's about to puke (ironically, he's much better live, from what I've seen on youtube). But, they do a good job of utilising the two in more interesting ways than harsh verse--clean chorus type of thing.

The best things about the album are the ominpresent catchiness and epic moments when they juxtapose double bass-heavy parts with Jonny's voice.

This is my favorite song:

dat ending.
