I'm gonna see Dream Theater and Megadeth with Nevermore, Fear Factory, and Dillinger Escape Plan on August 6th.

I'm really excited about this show. I'm not too big on Dillinger Escape Plan, but I heard that they put on a good live show, so it should be fun! :D

I'm definately looking foreward to seeing Dream Theater. They totally kick ass live.

I wish I could see that show.

A couple weeks ago I went to see Judas Priest(about 3 weeks ago) ManOwaR was 1 week after that and just last Saturday I went and saw Deep Purple with April Wine and Mountain in Toronto, I can't say who did the best shgow but Deep Purple were the best when they did The Mule with the really long and amazing drum solo.

Two awesome pianists playing Mozart, Bach and Lizt (spelling?) among others...

I saw Napalm Death at the "sziget" festival in Hungary and this crazy bloke started literally trying to beat up the girl I was there with! I think he thought it was just moshing, but cos he was drunk he took it way to far and was being waay to violent.

Haha so I had to jump on him and come to her rescue. Thats the only thing I can really rmember about the gig!

Yeah, Horna fucking delivered again as I expected. Bit odd that they didnt play anything from their latest album. SW was also pretty sweet, but there was a lot of nazi bullshit flying around during their show. I think that Krieg was also rather nice, I was pretty exhausted during this point, so I didnt follow their gig that well.... But nice evening of blasphemy anyhow!

I just came back from Into Eternity, Incantation, Krisiun, and Hate Eternal. It was a pretty badass show.

There was also All Shall Perish, who are metalcore, so they don't count. Though, I also didn't see Hate Eternal because I hadn't heard them before and the friend that I went with didn't want to see them, so we opted to leave early.

Though, Into Eternity, Incantation, and Krisiun kicked a lot of ass. And in the end I bought an Incantation tour shirt to mark the occasion :D

Carpathian fuckin' Forest.

Quite good, sound was a bit saturated at times, but overall it was decent. Not much stage presence although there were some funny parts (Vrangsinn fuckin' Nattefrost's ass with his bass) and some lame jokes by Nattefrost ("this song is dedicated to my asshole... It's Darker than You Think!!!") which made me laugh anyway...

They played many of my favorites and my absolute favorite, The Swordsmen. It was very cool that they balanced their material; I would have been quite pissed if they played only new stuff.

I must say that the best part were the vocals. I've always loved Nattefrost's style (specially his clean/semi-clean screams) and live he delivers them perfectly.

Some songs I remeber they played (no order):

Black Shining Leather
The Swordsmen
The Angel And The Sodomizer
Sadomasochistic
Bloodlust & Perversion
It's Darker Than You Think
Mask of the Slave
Bloody Fucking Nekro Hell
Return of the Freezing Winds
Carpathian Forest
Skjend Hans Lik

Saw Opeth last night! Fucking Opeth! They are incredible live. The acoustic passages are even more beautiful in person, and Mike's death vocals were in top form. There was a funny part where Mike said "Now repeat everything I say, Satan, Lucifer, Beezlebub, Abaddon, ABBA, Ace of Bass, King Diamond, Andy LaRoque, Satanic Death Metal!!!! Nice to see the guy has a sense of humor. I screamed everything but ABBA and Ace of Bass. "The Grand Conjuration" sounded better in a live setting but That riff in the middle was still very Metalcore. Oh well, I still bought a "Ghost Reverie" shirt. Nice album artwork. They didn't play anything off of "Morningrise", my personal favorite album :( , but still a kick ass show. A Life Once Lost and Chimera opened and as you can guess they sucked quite a bit. I'm tired of having to sit through shitty Metalcore bands opening for REAL Metal.

Nightwish was amazing last night!! They could have replaced the finnish ballad from "Once" (forgot the name...) and The Siren with Walking in the Air and Over the Hills and Far Away, but the setlist was almost perfect. Nocturnal Rites were great too. The played Fools Never Die and Never Trust from the new album and they were good songs. Hell, even the goths liked them. It was a killer show! Nights like these is why I love metal!

Tuesday I saw Angra and they were great to see!
It was great to see the band members play on bango's and tambourines on some of the intro's. Raphael and Kiko were impeccable on their instruments! Great band to see live.

Too bad I can't say the same for the first opening band Sequence...they were a snorefest. The second opening band, Hanker, was by far superior and much more interesting than the first.
