It doesn't bother me one iota.

Just want some consistency.
Actually, I'm from California, so, I'm not much of a redneck, sorry.

I'm friends with a lot of rednecks, seeing as I'm from the South. I don't even have a southern accent.

You all do I'm engaged to a Southerner, and even in the slightest instances of "I's" and "Uh's" believe me it shows. Its ok, at least you speak English.

Well, around here people must don't notice it. I do say "y'all" but it is a really accurate contraction (you all), much like "don't" and "can't". Much better than "you guys" or the dreaded "youse".

Who are "you guys"?

Nobody here has said that homosexuals should be denied any rights, so I don't know why this is even being posted.
That being said, who "stripped her of her rights"?
And what rights are being denied her?

And one more thing to point out the melodramatic hyperbole so often associated with militant gays: a shirt that says "legalize gay"... hmmm, as far as I know, homosexuality isn't illegal in the US.

Whats a matter boy, are you some kinda queer?

Maybe you could help me find out, big boy.

Also, this whole country vs. country debate is beyond silly. The war is over, guys, we're allies now.

yeah? try telling that to the frenchman and fridge, both of which have a history of talking trash about the US, while completely ignoring their own ugly history.

You do know my mother's from Brooklyn, right?

No, but I don't see what difference that makes.
If you want to be critical of the US, that is fine; there is plenty to be critical of. My problem is when said criticism fails to be applied to others for the same, or worse, behavior on a consistent basis.

I'm half American, have a US passport and am actually "American", if that means anything. So should I be sure to include a criticism of anything European any time I criticise something American? I'm fully aware of European BS, but it seems a waste of time. I mean, take the late response to the 9/11 responders healthcare stuff. Anything comparable to that happen in Europe recently? I'm only aware of British and Swiss developments, so if you find something relevant I'd be very curious to know.

No. The thing about that is, you never criticize Europe, so it's not a matter of "tit-for-tat". And we were talking about war and the excuses given for war and so on... you neglected to mention the fact that Europe's history is just as, if not more than, bloody and exploitative as the US. Furthermore, I still don't see where the original post (which is not even a novel or revealatory quote) can be construed as what you claimed it to be. I must have missed something, because it seemed to me to be a bit of a non-sequitur.

I mean, it's not exactly as if you (and even more so, the frenchman) haven't made statements of condemnation solely regarding the US in the past... if I went around bashing Europe every chance I got, I would damn well deserve being called on it, and I will hazard a guess and say that it would happen pretty damn quickly, too.
You know this, I am sure.

All I see in the picture is an attention seeking bitch who is using her gay lifestyle to achieve it.

She has a repeal Prop 8 sticker so probably has something to do with that. Wikipedia blah blah blah:

Quote:
Proposition 8 (ballot title: Eliminates Rights of Same-Sex Couples to Marry. Initiative Constitutional Amendment; called California Marriage Protection Act by proponents) was a ballot proposition and constitutional amendment passed in the November 2008 state elections.
