This is so badass. It sounds like it could've come straight out of the 70's.

Well played and all, but if this is one of the "heavy" tracks on the album, I think I'll pass. As much as I admire Akerfeldt and crew, I'm not interested in their love for all things 'hippie'. I like 70s prog as much as the next guy, but I already have that in my collection.

Opeth singles are always the most eccentric song on the album so I wouldn't worry too much. I like the song but I'm not sure I would be too excited for an entire album in it's style.

Kinda reminds me of the sound that Ghost goes after. I can get into this.

Yep, I'm pretty excited for this. Even more excited for Oct 6th to see Opeth and Katatonia in KC!

I generally love Opeth, but IMO this new song is terrible. Im alright with 70s prog, but the whole feel of the song was wrong and kinda forced and it doesnt suit the band.

I really hope the rest of the album isnt like this.

Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Being a prognerd I wholeheartedly worship this direction, although I really like deathy Opeth too. Sounded as good as it did at their studio last month. Did a little preview trip for a Finnish music mag (Sue Magazine) in June and listened through the whole shebang. Anyone interested in some prethoughts about the proceedings and the whole album, head on here:

Love progressive, so I think this is pretty cool.

The part that begins at 2:50 is just godly and the solo at the end almost made me jizz in my pants. So excited for this one.

This may be the first Opeth album I don't care enough to pick up; we'll see how the rest of it sounds. Michael's clean singing here is just, well, annoying at first listen and the music is beginning to become an Opeth cliche.

I love the new track and Cannot wait for the new album to come out in September. I'm also very excited about seeing them live; not to mention that I have seen them quite a few times before.

Trippy as hell, but I don't know yet. I hated Damnation at first, and it grew on me to the point where I listened to it often.

The only thing I don't like is that vocal filter Mikael sings through. They've been overusing it TOO much on the last 3 CD's.

It's okay. I'm no prog fan so it's not exactly my cup of tea but it's Opeth so it's bound to be at least decent.

The song sucked and Akerfeldt is trying way too hard to sound retro.. Living proof the band has and always will suck ass, looking forward to another failure to join the ranks of Morbid Angel (R.I.P), Deicide (R.I.P), In flames, and Iced Earth.
