Very good, despite the weak drumwork.

I prefer Darkens later output, though.

I Know and I had been told that by many people prior to writing this, but in relistening to the album it has a lot of strengths when he can drone on. The biggest factor working against the album though is some of the meandering moments during the second half, and Capricornus really sucks as a drummer on this. Great album though, and the original pressing is the crown jewel of my collection.

Yeah, I remember you mentioning that.
Darken has a knack for epic compositions, and this is chock full of that all important ingredient in black metal.
