from their punk hardcore begining to One Voice they were one of the finest hardcore band and a very enjoyable live experience... I did interview Mr Miret & Stigma twice and they're nice fellows regardless their street credibility which lead them both on the edges of legality...

If there's a remastered edition of One Voice, I strongly recommand you to try it.... you should enjoy it very much....

now, since they got back together I find them to be just the "ghost" of the great band they used to be.... better try Sick Of it All's Yours Truly than AF latest works !

The trouble I find with all this 'classic' hardcore stuff is that whilst I may like one or two songs from an album, an entire one is enough to make me hate it as there is very little variation. Still, AF are (nearly) at the top of the shitheap of hardcore.

When I first heard bands like TDEP, the end, and people like that, I thought they were the only bands in the world able to play like that. Then I heard "the shape of punk to come" and I realised that Refused had not only anticipated this style, but managed to balanced these angry, crazy riffs with a lot of groove and melody as well. In my opinion the ONLY present day band that I'm familiar with, who is able to fuse extreme "mathcore" riffs with real catchiness is Sikth, but if anyone knows any others PLEASE let me know.

(actually I think Botch could but they've split I believe :( ).

Their older stuff is not the same. The newest AF album is very similar to a Hatebreed while their older material is more or less punk with a extreme hardcore edge to it. Excellent band, one of the best of all time! Check out the song "Crucified," it's a fucking classic!!

And yes, Refused kick ass!
