I'd tickets for Kamelot, (they were touring Mexico some weeks ago), and I throw 'em to the garbage when I found that Fabio was coming instead of Roy... because he was feeling depressed.... what a fucking gay. And now he quits!

He might be gay, but what a fine velvet voice he had. Calling him a "second rate singer" is just stupid... really stupid. Seriously. :lame:

Karma is one of my fav power metal albums ever. I admit that I didn't like too much their last two albums, perhaps the separation was the best thing.

Um he's far from being gay but I'm sure some feel gay because like you said he has a velvet voice that soothes the audio senses :D

I don't think he's gay, I'm just mad at him... and gay is the worst insult you can get around here...

God, what a pussy.

I've said nothing bad about the guy, but I won't concede that he's the fucking chosen one so I'm full of shit.

How many posts are people going to make where they think my opinion has something to do with them. I don't care about anyone's feelings when I write something, why should I? We're talking about if a singer is in the top 20 in the world or top 5. Lighten the fuck up or get over it. A smart person could have read my post as asking "what do you like about him that i'm missing." I see LOTN answered the question rather than read it as "fuck that hack, you all suck for liking him" which is not what was written or implied.

If you didn't get that blabbermouth is for trolling yet, I feel bad for you even reading that garbage. It's for fun. You don't think I'm over there just to name drop all the bands Lione has been in in case someone liked his singing? I thought that was a bit obvious myself, listing them off like that. It's a place of overexaggeration. We don't really want Vince Neil to die, we just want his fans to know he is fuckup, like Mr. Khan has been lately.

People endlessly talking shit about Fabio on Blabbermouth and me expressing my opinion to the contrary is not being an asshole. I'm telling those that think Fabio should sit at home because Khan is so unique and magical they need to grow the fuck up. He's there to help the band you love so dearly, not to be insulted and treated like a scab. I seriously don't know why you dragged that here at all. It wasn't directed at anyone here or the type of crowd around here, but for the people that don't know shit over there. Do you think anyone has the slightest clue who they bands are that comments there?

Calm down..

The instant your opinion differs from the standard in here, you're getting pissed at.

I agree with Adveser about the Fabio thing. I think he sounds pretty good with Kamelot (even if I like Khan better), and he's lending the band a much-needed hand by touring with them. No one here's been bad mouthing him, but the people that have been, much like Adveser said, need to grow up.

Khan has been one of my top 2 or 3 favorite vocalists for many years...

Between the two, I actually prefer Khan and i am a huge cheesy power metal sound fanboy! I just dont feel it with Fabio. It may be a little too polished for its own good. I actually think he is one of the weakest elements to ROF and why I have not enjoyed the last few albums. I think ROF could use a singer more in line with an eric adams type. I know its true heavy versus symphonic but its just IMO. I can see where both of these two are legends in the power metal genre. I own about all of their music so they both must be doing something right!

He is second rate. Second rate in Prog or Power metal is extremely good, among the best actually.

So that makes you, what, 6th or 7th rate?

Seriously, second rate means "not that good" in the vernacular to everyone, apparently, but you.

I liked Roy's voice a lot but I haven't listened to Kamelot's last two albums more than three or four times so this doesn't make me that sad.

maybe he'll start a band with van williams and jeff loomies !

Campared to earlier albums Kamelot's last two didn't do a whole lot for me even though the more recent was an improvement, so I'm not devestated by the news. As for Fabio I like him in Vision Divine as well as ROF and don't have a problem at all with his voice. Maybe now Khan can restart Conception that would be cool.

Khan should join a brutal death metal band and do operatic pig squeals.

Ah !!

But seriously i'm almost certain that he's going solo after taking a break. That's the most likely outcome imho. I can also see him write an album about his personal struggle , spiritual issues , religion ect.

+1

I will miss him in Kamelot, but the last two were showing that the formula had run a bit dry. Perhaps this will be a bit of fresh air for both parties. Youngblood still has alot of great riffs in him, just needs to get away from the symphonic tendancies of the recent material and look at what made Karma and Fourth Legacy so bad ass.

And bringing Conception back would be interesting to say the least.

I really hope they do not replace him with the typical high pitched wailing power metal singer... really can't stand those too much. For example I really can't stand Rhapsody.

I must be the only person in the world is not all that impressed with Khan. I think his vocal tone is good, but not incredible.

I'm gonna catch some shit for saying so, but when I sing Kamelot songs, I find them a bit effortless compared to a lot of other shit. Silent Force (DC Cooper) for example is very very difficult to get down, so is stuff like Tribuzy for the insane range alone. I just don't see what warrants all this praise the guy gets. Sure the songs are good, but I don't think the guy has recorded anything any other pro singer is going to struggle with.

I think Khan, if he is writing his own notes, chooses the easiest and most familiar note progressions. Some of these singers are crazy. They will write out a 15-not progression on an acoustic guitar and woodshed it until it's clean and perfect...then work on the next line until they have something that would take anyone else probably a few days just to figure out for each song.

Fabio seems to be having an easy time with it. I seriously doubt Khan could sing most of Fabio's work from the first two VD albums.

I have to agree with you there, I never thought Khan's voice was ever that good, it actually kinda irritated me. I just thought his tones were just too soft for metal.

Regardless of whether you like Khan's voice or not, without him Kamelot might have to change their style a bit to suit their new singer.
