 @ Anon. Gotta love 'em :D

Anyways, this might be one of the weirder disorders I've ever come across:

Quote:
Trichophagia (Greek: τριχοφαγία, from τρίχα, tricha “hair” + φάγειν, phagein “to eat”) is the compulsive eating of hair. Most often, hair is pulled out and then the ends of the root bulb are eaten, or occasionally the hair shaft itself. The hair can eventually collect in the gastrointestinal tract (on occasion, and depending upon severity of symptoms) causing indigestion and stomach pain. A purgative can be given to induce the elimination of the resulting trichobezoar.

Trichophagia is characterized by the person eating hair, usually their own; primarily after pulling it out. Ritual is a strong factor, and may involve touching the root bulb to the lips, tasting the hair, and occasionally chewing it. Sometimes those with the disorder may even eat the hair of others. In the psychiatric field it is considered a compulsive psychological disorder.

In some cases, surgery may be required to remove the mass.[1] In 2007, an article in The New England Journal of Medicine reported the removal of a hairball weighing ten pounds from the stomach of an eighteen year-old Chicago woman suffering from trichophagia.[2]

There has been at least one reported death, occurring in 1999 in the UK (though this resulted from internal bleeding following the operation to remove a very large hairball)

Can't even imagine what would make someone want to eat hair. Also  @ ten pound hairball. That's a lot of hair! Wonder why the human body doesn't hack it up like cats do.

Which then led me to:

Quote:
The Rapunzel syndrome is an extremely rare intestinal condition in humans resulting from eating hair (trichophagia). The syndrome is named after the long-haired girl Rapunzel in the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Trichophagia is sometimes associated with the hair pulling disorder trichotillomania.

Characteristics of the syndrome include:

The body of a trichobezoar (hairball) located in the stomach, and its tail in the small bowel and/or in the right colon
Small or large bowel obstruction
Occurring in psychiatric patients
Trichotillomania

At least fourteen cases have been reported in the pediatric age group.

There really is a disorder for just about anything you could think (or not think) of.

The manager's wife at this video game store I used to frequent used to do that. She'd wear scarves and headbands to cover up the fact that she pulled her hair out. Such a nice lady too. Dorky but nice.

Got into my major. Awwww yeah.

Oh yeah, I said I'd post a link of that Baroness remix I did. So here it is. I'll probably update it to make it sound better when I get the bundle next semester.

You guys are a disgrace. What's wrong with trying to help Japan? Don't you understand what a big statement that is for a band like this to make? And they're donating an entire 50% of what they make to the Japanese Red Cross!

 indeed !

Why not everything ? The song is so bad the band doesn't deserve a cent in return anyway. Ah, well. At least they are doing something, but it smells charity business way too badly.

I hate Dark Moor. I hate them so much. I saw a "guy" (he looked like an emo-queer to me, but to each his own) with a Dark Moor handbag in the train the other day. I insulted him. I really did. My friend, who sat beside me, burst into laughter. So, I insulted him as well. Told him : "The fuck are you laughing at ? It's not funny. Its fucking Dark Moor, it's a serious matter. It shouldn't even exist in the first place. Would you laugh if the poor guy was your brother ? Huh ?"

He laughed even harder. The emo-queer gave me the finger, I stood up menacingly brandishing my walking stick. He ran away, insulting me.

I'm not proud of it. But it was the best fun I had this year. Fucking Dark Moor.

Ended up getting that stupid MS Checker or whatever the fuck it's called virus for the 5th time in the last year. By sheer coincidence, my laptop's MoBo died when I attempted to restart in safe mode. Weird. I get a BSOD pertaining to the Hard Drive when I attempt to reinstall windows, the HD works on the other computers I plugged it into perfectly. It was not the virus because I would periodically get the same BSOD on rare occassions. I assumed it was because I was using XP on a machine built for Vista and not impending hardware failure.

Didn't lose a single bit of data I had though and have the luxury of having a spare computer with 250gigs free. So now about 380 FLAC albums are on two computers' hard drives. It's not all that bad. 100 bucks worth of cheap ass computer fixes the problem.

This virus seems to occur when you leave any website open that streams data continuously, so kill a webpage if you aren't actively using it or "stop" the loading of the page after you view it and want to keep it open.
