So my local Hastings store has a used section where people just sell off their albums, and you would be suprised how many metal albums are there. In fact, I picked up Tarot - Suffer Our Pleasures and Helloween - Keeper/Legacy Live for dirt cheap.

There are a ton of Saxon albums there, but not sure which I should check out first. Any recommendations?

Lionheart or Killing Ground. It's the new and improved Saxon that has put out four albums now. 1980 Saxon seems stale in comparison they have outdone themselves so well recently. I'm glad the Scorpions and Accept took them as an example and got a modern producer and wrote what made them great. Highly Recommended.

Agree with the French here actually. My first was Lionheart though.

Best answer so far. They have a new one coming out really soon, so make it last 5. I goofed on my last post.

Wheels of Steel, Strong Arm of the Law and Denim and Leather have big historical value, and are classic mwobhm gems; you must have these albums, otherwise you're not a proper metalhead.

Otherwise, Unleash the Beast(1997), Killing Ground(2001) and Lionheart(2004) are among their best albums, imo.

Also,if you don't mind a more radio friendly Saxon, Innocence is No Excuse(1985), Solid Ball of Rock(1990) and Dogs of War(1995) are very good albums in my book.

Rock on with Biff and the boys! :dio:
