Just like Bruce Dickinson went back to Maiden , Halford to Priest ect and a bunch of countless other exemples. I like Annette but i just finished watching From Wishes To Eternity DVD and sorry but Tarja was the absolute perfect fit for the band.

I know a lot of shit went down when she left but do both sides are still bitter against each other ?

What are the odds of Tarja going back to Nightwish one day ?

I dunno if I care anymore.. Their 2007 album is my favorite since Oceanborn. I guess I wouldn't complain if she did go back obviously.. From some things I've read though Tuomos seems maybe too stubborn to ever go down that road.

I cannot seeing happening. The split was so ugly, there is just too much pride between the two groups. Tarja also seems to be progressing in her solo career with her recent release, which was very good. If anything, it reminds me of Liv Kristine with Theatre of Tragedy. She will just keep pressing and not look back. I wont be supprised though if Annette is everntually replaced with a Tarja clone, because there is just too much she cannot duplicate from their earlier works.

I don't see this happening unless they have the same kind of drama yet again with Anette. Even then I don't know how eager either side would be to reunite.

Also, Anette's Come Cover Me > original IMO

I don't have anything against Annette, but I prefer the version of Dark Passion Play without her singing. That said, I can't stand Tarja.

Seeing her to return is highly improbable for the reasons stated above.

The drama that happened when the split occurred left very deep wounds and scars between them to the point where it's highly doubtful that they will ever patch things up. And if there was a possibility well than it won't happen for a long time anyway.

Halen and Roth are a prime example on how long it takes for wounds to heal.

Hmm, why don't they just go full circle and get one of the lady singers from American Idol. Then they will totally RULE!!

Actually now that you mention it, they could probably swap Annette with Kelly Clarkson and no one would be the wiser.

They should just break up and Marco should concentrate on Tarot. His brother and the keyboardists, I think his name is Janne, are talented motherfuckers. He's going out for burgers when he has steak at home IMO.

I don't think she will, and it's too bad, because I personally think the band is headed downhill without her. Annette is boring, and 'Dark passion play' is my least favorite of all of their CDs (including the debut). I realize my thoughts are going to be the opposite of some of yours, but I simply don't listen to 'DPP' anymore...

Good thing there are new bands like Amberian Dawn, Arya, Operatika and others continuing the blend of power metal with female operatic vocals.
:)

I like some of these bands, but they're nowhere near good enough to be Nightwish replacements yet.

I can buy your comment, except I personally wouldn't say "nowhere near" - I think Amberian Dawn especially is close. I really like their vocalist.

It would be nice, but its not going to happen. The split caused too much of a wedge between the two parties.

Tarja > Annette

I was a big fan of tarja, but annette and the combination of mature songwriting is going to simply elevate this band. The income is going to be coming in from the masses. I know many of you hate hearing that, but the band is better off with annette. I like both style, but this band is far removed from the cult like status, and Tarjas vox (regardless of how superior it may be) will never be for the masses. I dont even think this question is relevant. After the sales of the last album they would not bring her back. Nightwish seems to be at the top of there game.
