The album is certainly more focused than Belus. That album felt like a mish mash of songs from different periods in Varg's career, whereas Fallen is coherent from start to finish.

Black metal album of 2011 already?

Agreed.

Belus was very good, this might be another step forward. So now that Burzum has returned in such an incredible way I'm expecting the revitalization of the entire second wave any day now! Garm returns Ulver to the fold, Emperor reunites, Enslaved decides to release the creative sequel to Frost, so on and so forth.
