I generally listen to 99.99999999% metal when I put on a CD. Other than Guns N Roses, Faith No More, Uriah Heep and Soundgarden, I do not own any non-metal.

However I do like a lot of my wife's music. Her collection is eclectic - pop, ska, punk, rock, lounge, tango, classical.

Those are really weird statements when you put them one after the other.

"I barely listen to anything besides metal, but I like a lot of the non-metal music my wife puts on".

From what I notice there is also an affinity for stuff like dubstep and trance as well.

Notice the little disclaimer of "when I put on a CD." :P

So I put on Metal and my wife puts on Other. Both are good.

However I put on music about 75% of the time. My wife prefers to actually play music (she's a bass guitarist).

I dunno if many other metalheads like these bands, but I do. Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Of the two metalheads I know in real life they both enjoy all of those bands even though they are quite the opposite of something like Decapitated etc etc.

They are hardcore with mathcore influences? Axe to Fall has its moments where it could be HoF with Bannon singing over Pike's guitars and the other albums have their moments but Jane Doe is hardcore.

uhh, AIC were a metal band, anyone that says different can go fuck themselves quite frankly. Look at the bands they toured with.

Nah I don't think Alice in Chains is a metal band. They're a grunge hard rock band.
