Arch Enemy was always overrated and they definitely suck real hard. I'll take some crossdressing guys in corpsepaint over Arch Enemy any day. I think I'd rather listen to Pearl Jam or some lame shit over Arch Enemy.

Not to add to the argument, but Pearl Jam are better than Arch Enemy anyways and are not at all 'lame shit'. It is YOU who are etc, etc.

I'm just not sure about that. Yeah, there was a lot of buzz going in with Mike Amott's post-Carcass band, but the Johan Liiva years were fine. I actually think their second album, Stigmata, is one of the best from the traditional melodeath scene.

Arch Enemy's first three albums were great melodeath, Stigmata indeed being their best. They started sucking when Angela joined if you ask me.

I wouldn't say that they sucked at all - their popularity turned people off, and they reacted to that popularity by getting more modern and catchier, hardly the only bands in the metal scene to fall prey to that sin. In terms of writing good metal, I have hope for them, where I think Dimmu have vanished up their own behinds. And I'm a Solefald fan, so I'm good at distinguishing genius from geni-arse.

I listen to a lot of death metal, just not a whole lot of bands. Black Metal I could care less about outside of only a handful of bands.
