At times for whatever reasons bands go out of their way to make their animosity towards another band known, what are some of the feuds or war of words in interviews or at shows that went unresolved or were just completely childish. One of the ones I remember was an interview I read on Mourning the Ancient, where the vocalist of Gontyna Kry called Nergal and Behemoth "jews" for changing their formula from black to death metal. Another memorable one being Vital Remains accusing Slayer of stealing the idea of their coverart from Let Us Pray onto Christ Illusion

Mr. Bungle and Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Basically Anthony Keidis is a dick and said Patton was "stealing his style," which basically started all sorts of shit. Also, Bungle planned on calling their third album "Californication" until RHCP got their hands on it first.

Not a band feud per se, but the Norway / Sweden BM feud comes to mind.

Wasn't there something with Impaled Nazarene and the Norsk Blek Metlers too?

Maybe. I don't remember, but it sounds familiar.

To answer husker's question: I can't seem to find a source, just something I remember reading about (or seeing in some documentary, which I tend to lean towards) many years ago. I'll try and find the video on it and post it.

Wiki has a little squib on it.

Quote:
A strong rivalry is said to have existed between Norwegian black metal and Swedish death metal scenes. Fenriz and Tchort have noted that Norwegian black metal musicians were "fed up with the whole death metal scene"[7] and that "death metal was very uncool in Oslo" at the time.[19] On a number of occasions, Euronymous sent death threats to the more commercialized death metal groups in Europe.[19] Allegedly, a group of Norwegian black metal fans plotted to kidnap and murder certain Swedish death metal musicians.[19]

A brief "conflict" between Norwegian and Finnish scenes gained some media recognition[citation needed] during 1992 and 1993. Part of this was motivated by seemingly harmless pranks; Nuclear Holocausto of the Finnish band Beherit started to make prank calls in the middle of the night to Samoth of Emperor (in Norway) and Mika Luttinen of Impaled Nazarene (in Finland). The calls consisted of senseless babbling and playing of children's songs,[26] although Luttinen believed them to be death threats from Norwegian bands

There's a documentary that talks about it, can't remember what it's called though.
It was fairly common knowledge some years back, some Finnish bands even would refuse to take orders from Norway and so on...
pretty funny actually.

The members of Living Colour hate Axl Rose's guts after some racist comments he made at some show they both played. It may have been an awards show, but that's what I remember.

Denmark and Sweden have had a feud going forever. One of the guys from Hammerfall once commented that King Diamond was [that guy with cum all over his face?] in a joking manner in the spirit of the rivalry.

Obviously Dave and Metallica.

All of the hair bands have always talked nothing but shit about each other, usually because they rattle off other bands and say "we aren't a shitty hair metal band like them" when in fact they are.

Ron Keel and Yngwie are bitter enemies. Inspired the song "liar."

Yngwie seems to have burned his bridges with Joe Lynn Turner. Despite the fact Turner is probably the only reason Yngwie is still alive.

Slipknot and Mushroomhead's fans were at it, despite the fact both bands have publicly stated it was a coincidence and that they liked each others' music quite a bit.

Graham Bonnet pissed off Michael Schenker by showing his ass and singing poorly while drunk at their first show.

Dio correctly thinks (thought actually, unfortunately) Ozzy is a hack through and through.

I'm pretty sure everyone in Hanoi Rocks hates Vince Neil.

Megadeth/Metallica, Megadeth/Slayer, Megadeth/Pantera. That's all I can think of.

Some interesting stuff I found.

Fred Durst vs Dino Cazares
2002: From www.rockdirt.com – Limp Bizkit attempted to offer former Fear Factory guitarist, Dino Cazares, for an audition to fill the band’s vacant guitarist role following last year’s departure of Wes Borland. Dino immediately turned down the offer saying joining Limp Bizkit would be “career suicide.” Ta.

Heh, good old Dino.

I wonder if anyone would have had as many feuds or run-ins as Davey Boy. He's one of my fav guitarists and I think he's immensely talented. But, boy does he have a huge ego !

I would too if I could play guitar like that and had at least 100,000 people willing to pay for an album such as "Risk." What devotion swallowing that piece of shit must take! The fact he can make a thousand bucks every night he wants to work for a couple hours pretty much gives him the ride on the gravy train without losing his roots by getting too rich on us.

Megadeth-Metallica is the obvious one.

Motley Crue - Guns N Roses - I think Vince Neil and Axl Rose actually punched on once from memory.

Machine Head - Slayer - they used to be chums until Machine Head turned rap rock and Kerry King bagged them out. From memory Robb Flynn did have feuds with other people too.

Euronymous versus Varg Vikernes - well it did end in murder! :P

It's from a documentary called Once upon a time in Norway, 7 parts.

Part 4 talks about the death threats, etc.

That was a funny one.

Sharon is a total piece of guttertrash though.
