Martolea - Noaptea Dihãniilo has definitely made my list. You can DL the CD for free from the band's site at http://www.martolea.com/ENG/index.html. It's under the music section.

I've kind of decided that although it's pretty average all around, there are a few songs I like on there, so it deserved to go on the list (albeit at a very low spot). Same thing for Kamelot and Flotsam and Jetsam, pretty much- probably should have left it at 15.

Do you think I'd like Grand Magus and Electric Wizard? They seem to be rating highly on everyone's lists, including your own (maybe not so much Electric Wizard)

Some of my favorites from this year...not very metal...

Foxy Shazam--Foxy Shazam
Flying Lotus--Cosmogramma
Beach House--Teen Dream
The Black Keys--Brothers
Alcest--Ecailles de Lune
Warpaint--The Fool
Jonsi--Go
Omar-Rodriguez Lopez--Solar Gambling

Missing a bunch. Still need to check out new Slough Feg, The Sword, Agalloch, and others for metuhl, but overall this seemed a weak-ish year for metal, despite a renewed interest in the genre for me recently.

I haven't listened to a lot of 2010 stuff actually, so I've got a lot of catching up to do. But this is what I've got so far, in no particular order:

Agalloch - Marrow of the Spirit
Bleeding Through - Bleeding Through
Dimmu Borgir - Abrahadabra
Fear Factory - Mechanize
Nevermore - The Obsidian Conspiracy

And most of these weren't even that impressive. I'm going to listen to a lot of 2010 albums when my exams are over.

Have you heard Grand Magus before? its pretty much in the same vein as their previous album, they are not a Stoner/Heavy/Doom band anymore, but i dont have a problem with that, Grand Magus is one of my favourite bands and Hammer Of The North is an excellent album, listen:

About Electric Wizard, Black Masses is a good album, just dont expect it to be like Come My Fanatics or Dopethrone.

The only 2010 releases I listen to thus far are Nevermore and Labyrinth. Labyrinth was better.

Neveremore-Obsidian Conspiracy
Kamelot-Poetry For The Poisoned
Overkill-Ironbound
Blind Guardian-At The Edge Of Time
Helloween-7 Sinners
Sinbreed-When Worlds Collide

Sinbreed's WWC was the surprise hit for me in 2010.

Yet to hear (off the top of my head):

Manticora

My favourite would probabley be Majesty and Decay. I'll have to give it more thought and come up with my top 20 later.
