I've been watching that new show The Event. Wasn't sure about it at first, but three episodes in and I'm starting to get sucked into the plot.

Rubicon has come to its first season conclusion; I hope there will be many more.

As much as I like Mad Men, I have felt this good about a show since The Wire.

Good to hear. Seen two episodes and it's drawing me in nicely.

Of course, this means that it'll be cancelled before really living up to its potential.

Ratings were up towards the end, thankfully. I'm sure if the finale ratings end up near the season 1 finale for Mad Men it will have to be renewed.

Portuguese state-owned channel RTP2 aired a few episodes of this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hank_(2009_TV_series) , starring Kelsey Grammer.

during the last 2 or 3 weeks. this is seriously the least funny show i have ever seen. it makes Faith & Hope look like Seinfeld. apparently it got canceled, good riddance. that this show made it all the way to Portuguese TV in the first place is the strongest argument i've seen for increased funding for RTP2, so that they don't have to air this kind of shit any more

I assume Season 1? Season 2 becomes more intense. Then Season 3 drops off but it is still awesome. Then Season 4 just leaves you saying 'ddaaaammmmn'.

you really need to get Showtime. Or find a way to get HBO Canada.

Okay, so I have to episodes left of Dexter Season 2. Shit is fucking overwhelmingly intense. I can't watch many episodes a day.

Grey's Anatomy has got to be one of the most overrated shows on TV. nothing happens.

Crap like that gets renewed year after year while Rome/Deadwood got cut short and Rubicon is 50/50 for a second season.

Heck, every year but the 4th, even The Wire was in danger of cancellation, and after initially promising 16 eps for the final season, HBO gave us 10 instead.

I can't blame HBO/AMC/Showtime for actually trying good programing and then having to cut it though; the fault resides with people too busy watching Dancing with the Stars to give the last great show on tv a shot.
