Do you guys ever run into this? I don't have the typical long hair and grubby attire of the typical metalhead. I keep my hair short and wear video game and horror movie t shirts most of the time and wear slim fit jeans. I have vans shoes and glasses also. I'm a pretty nerdy looking guy.

I don't have any tats because I'd rather just wear a t shirt or something that has something I like on it. Piercings I think look gay on guys so I have none of those either.

So in short, some guys will try to tell me that I'm not metal because of the way I look, or because I mention a metal band that's not Pantera. This attitude annoys me and I run into it sort of off and on either hanging out with friends at a bar or at shows.

My favorite part though is that most of these folks can't keep up with me and about as metal as they get is " Slayer " anyway, so I just laugh it off and don't bother to engage because it's a waste of time.

Anyone else deal with this? Or your thoughts on dressing " metal "?

You dress kinda of like how I dress. I wear band shirts, blue jeans or plaid shorts, vans, and I got short hair. I like to spike it up. No tats or piercings. If it's cold outside, I wear a leather jacket and I also got shades too for the sun. I like the rob halford mixed with street punk Metallica look. Cool and Simple.

I have the same problem with people too. My music is either too heavy or not brutal or metal enough. Most people think metal is either death metal, screaming vocals, metallica, pantera, or slayer. Most people refer to the "heavy stuff" as "hardcore shit". The people that I run into that say my music is not brutal enough listen to deathcore.

Sounds like a good idea for a thread there pal.

Haha... I used to have really really long hair (blonde, mid back), wear bullet belts, full-forearm spikes, pegged jeans, and the whole bit. Then I scrapped the wardrobe and kept the hair for a long time.
For about a decade I kept my head shaved (liberating as hell, let me tell you), Now I keep it clipped short on the sides and back and a bit longer on the top, a bit longer than a flattop; a good solid no nonsense haircut and comfortable to boot.
Still wear the standard 501s and t-shirts and flannels / leather jacket in the winter, and I still wear old school leather Nikes, exclusively.

sums up the thread.

I did the whole band shirt thing in high school which was tight but honestly I regret ever spending money on any sort of clothing in high school. I should have just worn a plain black cut off shirt.

What do you hope to achieve by posting pictures like those?

Oh, I thought he was baiting V. with those, but I guess the point remains the same.

I would have said V, but he's just as likely to laugh it off, whilst HT seems to have higher blood pressure in general.

Yeah I really give a fuck about what I wear every single time I put on clothes.

Yeah it's cool to have nice clothes, but sometimes a plain black/green cut off t shirt with basketball shorts is all that's needed.

Always come dressed to ball.

I find it difficult to take anything noodles posts seriously.
I've said it before, I'll say it again; baiting others on forums is the height of idle juvenilia.
No time for it.

They're pretty awesome clothes what noodles posted but they don't work for every setting.

I dunno, the bottom one looks like the guy got in a fight with a shower curtain and lost.
