Hmm, they don't have to sound like the BM of fifteen years ago, as long as they consist of uninspired blastbeats that's ebough for me to call them norsecore...

hmmm... i actually like Marduk too, i only have their newest and "heaven shall burn..." though. I think that "Heaven shall burn" is quite good. Let's not forget that there's many types of bm. But to say Marduk is sitting on the throne of bm might be a very big exaggeration. No one should sit on the throne, that'll only lead to mainstream, and that's bad IMO. Nonetheless, i will never regard CoF as black metal, way too gothic, not only their image but also their music.

Why do so many hate Dimmu Borgir? Is it because they are not as "underground" as you like your obscure black metal to be?

I don't like them because I think their music suck's. I dont know what kind of people they are though.

Cradle

As much as you guys wanna call dani girly, and the band a gothic band, not Tr00 Bm (which i agree with) but they still are more talented than Dimmu IMO.

I never got into dimmu, my friend made a copy of P.E.M and Death cult and i really couldn't find anything to interesting in it aside from the clean vocals from Vortex.

On the other hand i love cruelty, and Dusk from cradle.

I'm gonna have to call it a tie. I can't really choose between the two. I just heard Midian, and man, it's amazing. Lord Abortion is one of Cradle's best songs.

I don't know why so many people hate Cradle though. To me they are one of the best Commercial Black Metal bands out there. Then again, they are the ONLY Commercial Black Metal band out there. Nevermind.

While dimmu is a better band i am kind of in a cradle of filth mood and well midian kicks ass....im gonna regret this....

Dimmu definitely. Although I dont listen to either of them nowadays I used to enjoy DCA, PEM and For All Tid. thats 3 albums. and so far ive only enjoyed 3 cradle songs.

plus ive just dloaded EDT, havent listened to it much but its quite a good album.

oh and dimmu trashes cradle at the 'symphonic' part. Prague orchestra was a nice addition.

A long time ago, I really liked PEM, then DCA came out. I played DCA about 40 times, and 40 times I failed to get into it. I only liked vredesbyrd...

People who say For all Tid is Dimmu'S best work make me fucking laugh...common this album is almost pure shit...don't try to sound like so necro that just sound gay....Stormblast is their best album though...the others kick ass too except DCA i have a little bit of difficulty to get into...Dani is a cunt and his voice annoys me...easy choice...

Why do people always lump these two together? Apart from their "untrOOness", which is a shite concept anyway, they're nothing alike. I did hear through the grapevine that Shagrath is collaborating with a Norwegian Rap outfit. Now that is just gay and I like Dimmu.
