Cons:

Vinyl is more expensive.
The benefits to sound quality seem contested at best.
It takes up space and might ruin the feng shui of my living room.

Pros:

Vinyl albums are pretty.
Some bands are jerks who only release stuff on vinyl.

Please add more pros and cons as you think of them.

Also, the third option is a joke option. I am not leaving this to fate.

cons:
Vinyls do get damaged faster than cds.
Vinyls are pretty but since most metal artwork is godawful...
Vinyls are kewl for nerds.
You cannot play vinyl to each of your friend's place.
Ripping vinyl for your i-pod is more work than ripping cds.

pros:
Vinyls do sound warmer.
Vinyls don't need jewel cases replaced when they break.

I have all my Drudkh albums on vinyl. The artwork is far superior compared to CDs. Some bands do release different artwork for CD and vinyl releases.

Besides, it's cool to own rarities on your collections, I'm so proud of my Maniac Butcher and Judas Iscariot LPs, heh!

I've wondered about this myself in the past, but can imagine how much of a wanker I'd look in a social setting saying 'now I'm going to put a record on' and then actually putting a record on. Not to mention I have more CDs than Fridge has sexual peccadilloes, so what is point. What is point, rio? Have you got lots of vinyl already, or would you have to buy them all? Voted no.

Nah, in reality I'd say I'm putting a record on, they'd say "oooh hark at thee mister vinyl poser" and I'd be like "YEAH FUCK YOU GET OUT OF MY HOUSE", problem solved.

I voted yes because they sound better and are more fun. I don't have any friends though so I don't have to worry about them being able to play my records at their house or looking like a douche b/c of my vinyl collection.

Also CDs wouldn't make a very good weapon against zombies.
