Great live review man, smaller shows are always the best in my opinion. I saw Shadows Fall at Sounds of the underground in 07, and they are a good band as well as some very nice people. Sounds like you had a good time.

No Promise to Agony? They were on Mad Hatter's site. No big loss.

Mad Hatter used to be a strip club, no? Do you travel to Northside in Cincinnati much or dig hardcore punk?

That was a great live review. I'll definitely go see them when I'll get the chance.

Glad you guys liked it. It's crazy Shadows Fall was selling 300,000 records a few releases ago and the next thing you know, they're playing for a hundred cats on a random Tuesday in what is basically a dive bar. I've seen a few interviews lately too where they've whined a little about folks sharing music online, so I think there's some bitterness there, but they were nothing but professional and friendly for this show and I respect that a lot. They've also been talking about the next album being more of "technical thrash record" so I'm pretty pumped for that.

What's Northside? Is it a bar? I'm not gonna badmouth hardcore because I don't really what it's about. I would just say the little I've heard or seen hasn't appealed to me.

It's a region within Cincinnati comparable to Over the Rhine, close to the university. If it's not your thing then I wouldn't worry too much about it but there are some pretty awesome crust punk and hardcore bands that do shows for $5 or so quite often there.
