Who's better? I've got Damnation And A Day from COF, and it's OK but nothing amazing. Heard 'Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse' and liked it. Is the whole of 'Death Cult Armageddon' as good?

I never found anything to really enjoy about those two bands... but I hate Dani Filth's voice... also, I think P-E-M is a quite good album, better than anything I heard from CoF... so here's my vote... now flame me ! :P

No offense meant, but this is like choosing your favourite shade of brown.

Some of CoF's instrumental pieces are quite interesting, I'll give 'em a vote.

cof used to be a mediocre but still enjoyable band band failed to keep up the work, nymphetamine was a bit better but still not good enough. And since i sometimes really enjoy dimmu my vote 'll be quite predictive

I've liked Stormblast and För All Tid so I'll vote Dimmu Burger now...

I voted Dimmu because of Enthroned Darkness Triumphant and cradle of filth has one good song

Try both of the bands older stuff. I suggest "Principle of Evil Made Flesh" by Cradle, and "For All Tid","Stormblast",and "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant" by Dimmu. damnation by Cradle isn't Cradle at all and DCA by Dimmu is a little out there, even for Shagrath. "Spiritual Black Dimensions" is the last good from start to finish album Dimmu ever did. "Cruelty and the Beast" was the last good start to finish album Cradle did. Hope that helps you out.

Like OurFinestCoward said, it's a tie.
the only reason why i should pick db over Cof is Dani is the ugliest and most girly goth i've ever seen

Astaroth proudly presents - tadaaa!!!

dimmu borgir is less annoying and the mourning palace has to be one of my favorite songs. plus danny looks like michael jackson and that can't be good.

both bands earlier material is killer!!
but would have to say CRADLE is the better of the two just for the simple fact that they released PRINCIPLES OF EVIL MADE FLESH & VEMPIRE!!!!!! definently 2 of the greatest black metal releases ever.
but of course, no band will ever come close to claiming the throne from MARDUK!!!!! HAILZ!!!!!!!!!!

I actually whipe my ass with Marduk, they are not even BM, plain morronish Norsecore... Welcome nonetheless!!

I concur that Marduk is quite bad, but I wouldn't call them Norsecore; they're not similar to the Norwegian Black Metal of fifteen years ago. Rather I'd call them a tasteless crossover between gothenburg melodic death metal and uninspiring black metal. The latest albums, in any case.

On-topic: I voted for Dimmu Borgir, as I can dig their two first albums, and Simen Hestnaes is a nice person (I still have contact with him).
