I absolutely loved BE, is this similar to it?
I really did too. It was one of those albums that I listened to when it came out as a promo. It was weird. I listened to the first half of the album and wondered why there was only one "song" in the first 20-30 minutes of the thing. After an adderall binge I put the album on after not sleeping for about three days and it was incredible! I listened to the album about four times in a row, reading along with the lyrics every time. It was certainly not an album that if one of the tracks popped up at random you'd be glad to hear. This was good as an album. In the sense that you have to watch a whole movie to pretty much enjoy it. The whole thing might as well be one long track because that is the only way it will be appreciated.
Anyway. I can't wait to muster up the attention span to tackle the rest of the catalogue at some point. They are an incredible band. If there was ever a band where you gotta put the album on and just "go with it" it is this band.
I love where DG's head is at with the lyrics. I share an interest in a lot of the subject matter. It's another case where "whoa, I didn't think anyone else on the planet thought like that too."
