Slipknot and Soulfly are very much metal.

By the way I don't really like these bands other than one or two Slipknot songs.

For real.

Fine, we can say nu-metal is bad metal, but it is metal nonetheless. I hesitate to agree with Adveser but it does seem sometimes that people just like to say things aren't metal because they don't like it.

I mean, for god's sake, Slipknot is metal as fuck compared to something like Sonata Artica's Unia.

Actually I find that to be more acceptable than saying Slipknot isn't metal while being a Sonata Arctica (or other flower metal) fan.
