I felt Type O tried to go a little more commercial with this release. A lot more use of keys, not as scary or ominous as the previous two. Still, it has some fine moments.

IMO this was a tiny step down from Bloody Kisses. So not a classic, but a really great album.

Agreed but honestly I love the more upbeat songs as much as the doomy aspects. Love You to Death, GF's GF and Wolf Moon are the highlights.

It's kinda odd that you had just gotten into this album over the last few months. It's definitely a classic but I'd be afraid to label something a classic so quickly.

So true. Forgot about that. This whole album is pretty solid.

Agreed. Still, nice review, and explaining your situation as you did goes some way to legitimizing the whole deal. Personally I've been a fan of Type O since I was 10 years old, my uncle had Bloody Kisses and thrashed it during the short time we lived together back in '96. I have listened to this one as well but not as much, but I'm ashamed to say I've never got around to listening to the rest of their stuff. One day...
Also I'm wondering if a staff member could inform me as to whether previously-reviewed albums can be elevated to Classic status? It occurs to me that if this is a classic, then Bloody Kisses certainly is, and 99/100 just doesn't quite cut it :D I guess if it were possible it probably would have happened already...

my favorite type o album. they trimmed the fat and there is barely any filler, which you can't say about any other type o album.

*cough* world coming down *cough*

The noise made by bodily functions isn't filler.

I think it's unfair that Bloody Kisses didn't get classified as a classic. I love this album, but I think their best work is Bloody Kisses . I like the slower, doomier TON songs which is why I like this and Bloody Kisses more than any other album of theirs. Their other albums somehow weren't able to capture the same atmosphere and feeling.

Would I like this band and where should I start with them? Why does google show me naked men when I image search the singer's name?

I agree with this as well, WCD is excellent. Every time I put the album on I cannot help but listen to the entire thing. Not to detract from October Rust, which is definitely another one of my favorite albums.
