Rush is bollocks. Complete and utter pretentious rubbish. Geddy Lee should be beaten to death with Neil Peart's severed arms.

Black Sabbath is about as exciting as watching Kelly Osbourne watch TV. I'm convinced Tony Iommi is animatronic.

Iron Maiden is a two-hit wonder? I hope that was some kind of joke. You mention two songs off of Number of the Beast, and not even the best one (Hallowed Be Thy Name). This thread sucks.

Well I must say, without this thread I would never have realised that Iron Maiden, Napalm Death, Cathedral, Judas Priest, all black metal, all bands from the 1970s, Coroner, Immolation, all punk, and motorhead all suck. Thank goodness for metalreviews.com!

I knew about the power metal though.

Nobody said they suck. They just said they didn't enjoy those particular bands. The lack of distinguishing those two points is why everybody is getting so butthurt.

Power metal is for old people and queers, just sayin'.

There are a few good bands.. just not many.. As for Iron Maiden their music may be boring and inoffensive, but to deny their influence is pretty silly..

Their sounds doesn't quite sit with me. I can sit there and listen to say The Worldess Chamber and think "wow" and then listen to the whole alubm and find it tiring.

By the way I never said most of the bands I listed were shit. I tried to get into them but they didn't click.

Musical appeal is a subjective thing and actually liking a certain band or song or style isn't a logical, rationale thing. The appeal is emotional and almost primal.

I've met lots of Metalheads who have "liked" certain Metal bands just because the bands were influential or because they played a certain style.

Yet you could tell these people didn't actually enjoy listening to these bands because they never played them, couldn't name them or even recognise them when they were played (best one was some guy mistaking Megadeth's A Tout Le Monde for Metallica, while another good one was some other guy saying "I think that's the Kreator album I really like").

I tried to get into a lot of bands be they Judas Priest, Napalm Death or Darkthrone and didn't like them. So what.

I'll happily say I don't like metal or rock or any particular genre of music but most bands I like are metal bands.
