I'm biased because I despise Opeth with a fiery passion but still my vote counts.

Coroner!!!

I have a strong feeling that of the 6 people who voted for Coroner, at least half have never heard the Opeth album in question (and perhaps one or two of the Opeth voters have never heard the Coroner album either). I think that is the fun of odd comparisons like these--you just know people will vote despite not hearing both albums. Of course we all do this (I am as guilty as anyone) on a regular basis in arguing over best of lists and the like.

I do too, but somehow I imagine we are in the minority.

If you didn't vote for Mental Vortex, you are not a fan of metal music.

I'm in the other half. I like Opeth, and it's a gread album, but Coroner is Coroner and is 1000000 times better.

+1 i love Opeth and My Arms Your Hearse its probably my favourite of them (Demon Of The Fall!!!) but there arent many things greater than Coroner.

Or maybe you just listen to more than thrash and a couple older death metal albums.

Mental Vortex isn't really a true thrash album.

Yes, I am quite aware Mental Vortex isn't pure thrash. There is also no way in hell you would have listened to that album if they weren't a 'thrash band'.
