Way to only listen to 10 seconds of the song.

Also, it's not a guitar solo, jackass, it's a riff repeated for the sake of building an atmosphere. The rhythm section to comes in underneath to complement the riff is outstanding. The drumming is pure bliss.

Yes damn those guitar parts that create tension to build up to the idea that comes after them. Motherfucker should just play fast or why listen to him. Spoils of Failure and Chronoclast have some of the best guitar leads in metal and music in general because they have memorable melodies and thought out harmonies, while also complementing the structure of the song rather than being an isolated minute and a half jerk off over power chords between the second and third choruses.

Also if anything I'd say the start of IV is a bass solo since it's playing the melody

Just finished listening to two of their albums. When it comes to combining intelligent songwriting and musicianship with raw intensity and heaviness, no other bands come close to Buried Inside. Neurosis and Converge are obviously awesome musicians, but they never tried to write a 40 minute song w/ recurring themes or anything quite as complex as the climaxes to III or Time As Surrogate Religion. (Neurosis probably have stuff that's just as drawn out, but never with the same perpetual musical movement/lack of repetition.) The start of Time as Commodity rips my face off while the guitars play counterpoint (I think?), which is a very special feeling that no other bands can give me. I'm super sad they're gone but also hoping the members start new bands and excited to hear what they come up with.

Isis can't even hold a candle to these motherfuckers. The only thing they did better was releasing more music.

Buried Inside = Pure apocalyptic awe and wonder, sadness and strength, and intensity.

Isis = Pretty good Post-Metal. Can be a bit boring at times, but it's some nice stuff.

From listening to their albums last night, the thing that impresses me the most about Buried Inside is how well their music flows, it's all so natural they way it builds up and falls down again. It's absolutely glorious stuff. The last part of "Time As Commodity" is some of the most epic Metal ever.

I will try and listen to them again, though, see if I can't find this sadness and wonder.

Yeah. And I love how each song works great on its own but is made much much better when it's put in the context of a whole album.
