Nice to know that the mods of a forum have barely concealable disdain for the regular posters.

???

We don't have a disdain for anyone. We do have a disdain for foolish posts that damage our website.

Yup, keep piling on. Judeo-Christianity, my sexuality, what else can we add on top of this? My message is simple and straightforward - you had a chance to praise the worthy work of metal and you blew it with the idiotic humor. Why bring anything else into this picture?

I'm not piling on anything... just speaking my mind.... what is wrong with that ? you said pornography, I don't recall any, you said I blew my chance, you're wrong, I only took it through another way....

Do I take myslef seriously, you happen to think so, I don't, it wouldl be tough for me to convince you. I was very offended, that is all. You think I had a right to be? And even given that, I didn't lock the thread.

I never intended you thought of yourself too seriously, I said you were taking things to seriously on the topic we're actually discussing... what you do with your life and how you deal with everyday is certainly none of my concern.

You keep talking about the connection some reviewers are missing with the readers. I really don;t recall you ever posting much in my reviews before. I also don;t recall you e-mailing me directly to start the connection. I know you are around on the forums, mostly with Misha's and Daniel's reviews where, dare I say, you don't post the garbage you did in Slough Feg. So, we basically never met, you lead off with that picture of yours, and you want us to "connect" now?

It's true we never connected, it's also true I rarely answer your reviews. I browsed your reviews before writing this post and it seems it's just a matter of taste... we have very little in common thus it's no surprise we never really made it...

But you're wrong when you say I mostly post on Misha's & Daniel's review... just take a closer look.

I'm not trying to start a flame war here so I won't name names..

Sure enough, you are not trying to start anything ... just speaking your mind.
If I may ask a couple of questions:
Quote:
you said I blew my chance, you're wrong, I only took it through another way....
and how is that going to materialize

elaborate on matter of taste - the way I write about the music you like or the fact that I write about the music you don't like?

it just seems we don't appreciate the same artists... also, you may not have the best writing style (not bad either, don't get me wrong....) but I appreciate that you never overrate and that your reviews are always informative...

that said, how praising Slough Feg is going to materialize is none of your concern since it won't appear on this website...

and, about the disdain towards readers, I might be wrong (though I doubt it) so I won't comment any further... I will just regret that some reviewers are not active enough on the forums.

you don't even know me, yet you already know how little in common we have, I wonder how you arrived at that conclusion

I was talking about music and music only Alex... isn't it why we both came here ? and, as I already said, your life is none of my concern and since I don't know anything about it...

I would take pointers on the style thing. Always trying to improve ...
And I ALWAYS answer if people post in my review threads. No matter the fact I am constantly busy.

I think your reviews are a tad too "clinical"... they sure inform well the readers but I would like to feel more passion (positive or negative)in it... and I said that though you didn't have the best style your reviews were not bad at all. so there was really no offense intended here...

In case you're referring to me here, let me speak up. I respond to posts made in my reviews, which are few and far between. I cover mainly lesser known rock/power metal/trad metal bands that seemingly don't generate much interest. However, I'll answer any posts in my reviews that need to be answered. And, I'll jump into the power metal forum to discuss when I have something to contribute. Of course, you're never going to see me on the exterme forums, or in threads related to these type of reviews. I don't know sqaut about the subject, and have nothing to offer the discussions there.

No, I don't have 3,000 posts under my belt. I work 6 days a week, and would get fired if I tried to keep up that pace. Sure, I'd love to spend more time on here, and if I win the lottery, I will. Metal is certainly a lot more interesting to me than my boring accounting job, trust me on that. But, without that job, I'd have no money for a computer to post here in the first place. So, I answer posts in my reviews, but spend the majority of my time getting a hold of promos for the site, getting that material into the hands of reviewers, and dealing with bands and labels. Beleive me, this stuff takes a lot of time and effort, so maybe you can see why losing one of these relationships really came as a punch to the gut for me.

I just can't be everywhere at once. I also have a very needy girlfriend to worry about, and I assume some of you know how that goes  .

in fact I wasn't mentionning anyone in particular so chill out...

I perfectly understand how busy you are... I work 5 days a week with the great chance to be able to listen to music and use internet from the workplace... I feel very lucky about that and I wish the same to all of you guys... as for needy girlfriend, got a handful, thanks  I'm glad she sleeps so much while I sleep so little, that certainly gives me some free time :D

OK... Don't want anyone to think I'm aloof and don't care, that's all.

You're lucky to be able to do that from work. Every job I have ever had here monitors employees every second of the day on their PCs. In addition, web filtering software has become more popular. Message forums, sports pages, and anything with vulgarity is usually blocked. It sucks for me, but I guess to companies want their employees to stay on track. At least I can listen to metal while sitting in my car stuck in traffic jams.

Maybe I should encourage my g/f to sleep more, that's probably the best way to avoid fights and disagreements  .

I think the cause of all the trouble was deleted. And yes sensoring the f word on a metal site is really stupid. But beaver??? That isn't sensored anywhere.
