The new albums out and I'm not that impressed I was hoping for a return to form, but this pales in comparison to the other great new thrashers from Overkill and Heathen.

Yeah, lost completely faith in them after (NU-)Metal. Yuck. Not sure if I'm gonna check this out. But it's Annihilator.

I've got a soft spot for Anni. Even though Metal sucked, I still found 3 songs to be enjoyable. Operation Annihilation, Chasing the High, and the best song from that album Clown Parade.

As for the new album, I've heard a few songs on YouTube and they seemed to be pretty fast which is a good thing. I've got the new album pre-ordered and will give my thoughts in full once I get it.

People who hate Annihilator are dead to me.

Beyond a few tracks after Alison and Neverland, Annihilator fails quite consistently. I love those albums but beyond that maybe 'Set the World Afire" or something like that is decent but I never cared for them much post those first two.

Set the World on Fire is basically a 80s hair metal album, problem is it came out in 1993.

The albums after that, basically Waters solo albums, range from terrible to good. King of the Kill is a pretty cool album where Remains is pathetibad. The Joe Comeau albums are also mixed. Carnival Diablos is awesome where Waking the Fury is pretty blah. Then you get the Dave Padden stuff... All for You is terrible, Schizo Deluxe was ok, you've already heard my thoughts on Metal, and I've still yet to bear the new one.

Annihilator is really better than people think. You just need to go into some of their(his) albums with an open mind. Because they are not all speed/thrash albums. Some have industrial sounds, hard rock, metalcore, old school heavy metal, etc..

In the end though, Dave Padden may be the worst vocalist ever.
