Saw Nachmystium this monday. Was pretty good, damn short though. Only lasted about 30 minutes or so.

Yeah, see my last post in this thread. Did you get the same two opening bands (Wodensthrone and Psyke Project or something)

Bah, judging by studio releases, Wodensthrone is 5 times better than Nachtmystium.

Hm, not getting the fuss over Loss I wouldn't say that at all. But regardless, they weren't exactly born entertainers on stage. Mind you I guess that's the nature of the beast with a lot of BM.

Agreed on your last sentence. I could go see Alcest in a week...but why? I am poor and that kind of music just isn't going to be that good live.

Yeah... I just realised Ragnarok is playing in my city right now. But the thought of going just doesn't appeal.

Er... I have a terrible suspicion that Negura Bunget might have been the support at this gig last night that I didn't go to. I am going to pretend I never found this out.

You shouldn't have said anything. I will not let you live this one down!

Fortunately I they're playing again soon at UK Deathfest which is also here. That's a save and a half.

Damn, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. I'll expect a full report.

Saw Deep Purple last night, for the first time since 1998.

Man, for guys who are all in their 60s (except for steve morse, who is almost 60) they fucking ROCKED THE SHIT. God they were heavy. They played the heaviest versions of Lazy and Hush that you could ever imagine. They sounded like completely new songs.

My ears are still ringing. They only played songs from the Mark II line-up and the current line-up which was completely expected but still slightly disappointing. Mark III in particular has some of my favourite Purple songs. Oh well, I saw Glenn Hughes on his solo tour last year and he played most of them.

Was glad to hear them throw The Battle Rages On into the mix though. Didn't expect them to, I love that song.

Took some pics, but only with my phone. Will maybe upload if I can ever find an appropriate cable.

FFS turns out I missed that as well. Let us never speak of this episode in my life again.

On a lighter note- tonight: Rotting Christ, Benediction and Bolt Thrower! Let us hope there are tickets left.

Went to the Neurotic Deathfest last weekend.

Saw: Immolation, Dying Fetus, Bolt Thrower, Rotting Christ, Benighted, Defeated Sanity and Insision.

Very cool festival. It was sold out so if you wanted to see anything on the smaller stages you had to get there quite early. Immolation was easily the best of the bands too, ;)

.:crast:.

Gaza is a fuck yeah. You'll enjoy them. I plan on seeing them open for Converge with Lewd Acts maybe in June if I can drive the long trek to the venue.

Just saw KISS there on friday. And wow. KISS have steadily become one of my favourite bands over the past year, having always 'liked' them before hand. I have countless DVD's and live footage of them but nothng could prepare me for the awesomeness that was KISS live!

the stage show, the pyro, the crowd singing, the props, the fire and the playing. Pauls voice may be slowly leaving him, but i guess the man is 60, so fair play to him for keeping it for so long.

Def in my top 5 gigs ever, me and my mates are still talking about it!, a week later. That doesnt usually happen! Fantastic show.

Kvelertak is a bit overrated imo, but nonetheless a sick band.

Saw Lamb Of God last night and they were great. Randy Blythe referred to Mahatma Gandhi as a punk rock dude that got a huge roar from the crowd. Keeping my fingers crossed and awaiting Nile :dio:

I'm a fan of all 4 of them in their own different ways. Should be some variety which is good in a metal show with a longer line-up.
