Someone asked for examples of reviews where an album was reviewed for the sole purpose of trashing it. I gave one. Really it has nothing to do with Korn or nu-metal.

But you wouldn't understand that, huh? Too busy trying to change the subject because you know damn well why you reviewed that album. You knew loooooooooooong before you reviewed it that you disliked it. This nonsense about really trying hard to enjoy it is just that, nonsense.

Just admit that you knew prior to reviewing that album that you disliked it, and we can move on. Or, you know, you can toss out an insult and lock the thread.

You said that reviewers here review things specifically to trash them. Thereby implying that it had happened more than once in the site's entire history. And then, even that one example is an extremely dodgy one which nobody really believes apart from you, so...

I said no such thing. I jumped into an in-progress conversation on that subject, and then gave an example, which is not dodgy in the least.

You are just being a reall ass over this. It was confirmed in this thread, if someone doesn't like an old metal album, they don't review it generally. I am saying this site is great, but one of the very few compaints I have is that generally the reviewers tend to trash anything that is an easy target.

And frankly only a total asshole would use someone's political position to frame everything they say as being irrelevant.

Bias is not a bad thing. I enjoy the bias of metal reviews personally because it means I don't have to read reviews trashing albums that I might like or do like because it is the position of the individual reviewers that they don't really like the form of music. I don't come here to read what the reviewers think of music that they consider beneath them before even opening the case. Sort of like Rolling Stone acting like every prog. rock record is a piece of shit with very few exceptions. This isn't news. I simply think it would be better to stick with what you know instead of going outside the lines to either a) make a point that your tastes are better than the mainstream or b) beat a deads horse because universally no one will care. Maybe even c) to prove you have a much broader range of taste than you really do.

I just can't come up with a solid reason to review an album that is obviously not within the realm of what is typically reviewed when it is going to be viewed in a very negative and biased light.

There is a huge difference between being biased, which we all are, and making up some dumb bullshit that everyone is paranoid and thinks there is some conspiracy going on. Don't keep talking about of trash, which you have been for pages now, then insist the review was fair, who can't see through that? and why are the people pointing out this inconsistency out of line?

God, this is just going around in circles now. I've answered all your points above; get over the fact that your favourite album got a low score and a negative write up, ok?
