I can't help but think the song would be so much better if it was called "Severe Intestinal Distress"

Except for the high pitched vocalist who occasionally tries to sing out of his range .. I agree.

How does he go out of his range?

I listened more closely .. i guess he doesn't .. it just sounds like he's stretching.

Nothing 1:42 - 1:47 for an example.

Really just a nitpick on a great band but for some reason it just stood out.

Actually .. I have only ever deleted 1 song from my media library so maybe this is the worst metal song ever. Don't get me wrong, I love these guys and would kill to see them live, but they have some head-scratchers too.

Manowar - Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts

They also have some of my favorite metal songs. Go figure.

I've discovered that with Manowar they're a creative coin, they can either be totally incredible like their first albums; or fall into the deepest realms of hell such as (Louder than hell), (Return of the warlord). I don't think they are a terrible band in any respect, they just tend to operate on those different levels on every album.

Anything by Six Feet Under. Probably the worst band ever actually.

Does Metal Detector by Eternal Combustion count?

Also, Hot Dog by Limp Bizkit. Yeah, I know they aren't "metal", but being that MTV and a lot of the mainstream were lumping them into the "metal" genre ten years ago, I thought they were worth mentioning. Interestingly, according to Wikipedia, the band has seen fit to release a new album later this year.

As for Frantic, once you understand the song's lyrical theme (time and how pressing it can be), the "Frantic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-toc" chorus makes a little more sense. In fact, I'd say it isn't even that much worse than Anthrax singing "Got the time tic-tic-ticking in my head."

If I remember that was a cover song on "Persistence of time"?

Yes.

(Note: that wasn't a knock against it or anything like that)

Fuck off.

Not the best Slayer song by any stretch of the imagination, but worst metal songs of all time? Not by a long shot.

Bullshit it's a terrible song by the band. If you'd defend that lord knows you'd have the balls to defend God Hates us All. I get that they still have their 'thrashing' ability, the song just sucks and maybe I did go overboard calling the worst. Granted coming from the band that released "South of heaven", it's a pretty damn lousy effort.

The problem with "new Slayer" IMO is that the band just sounds like they're trying too hard to retain their classic style. Rather than admitting that they've grown up and matured, it seems like they're deliberately trying to be 26 years old again. GHUA was a pretty blatant example of this with songs like Exile and Payback, where the f-word was used more often than in any prior Slayer song combined. Loosely translated: Kerry King was running out of aggression (and ideas) and needed something to make the music sound "extreme."

No, I won't defend God Hates Us All, because that has nothing to do with this conversation, you silly fuck.

What I will do is defend Hate Worldwide, which may be middle-of-the-road for Slayer, but still shits on a million fucking bullshit metalcore songs. If you think it's one of the worst metal songs of all time, you are plainly a moron.

If I might interject? I liked God Hates Us All. Might not be tr00 thrash metal art!!11 but it's so much better than Diabollox I. M. that it's a relief to listen to. Plus, it's fun.

There. Now carry on bollocking Steve, my good man.
