Do we have enough followers of world rugby to get a rugby thread posted here? I know we have a fair share of Europeans. With the RWC looming next year, it would be a great time to get the discussion started.

If it was on regularly, I'd watch.

I'd like to play too. I know a park that has rugby (amateur) games, I should check it out.

Rugby clubs around the world accept rookies and are more than excited to teach newcomers. Give it a shot. There's a position for every body type and it's so much fun.

The American sport your refering to is football. It's a lot different than rugby. I'm not going to get into those differences , look them up on your own time.
But anyway I play rugby and would like to watch it if it was ever on. Unfortunatly in Canada it doesn't get much air time so I can barely follow it. I don't even know if we qualified for the world cup. I know we were playing a set of games against the states for a spot but I think we lost. If we qualified go canada. If not new Zealand all the way

The people on here think I'm referring to American Football??? I pass backwards, I kick when I want, and I tackle with no pads. And aside from rugby, American Football is a tougher sport than anything the Europeans do.

I'm not sure if Canada is locked in, but I know my Italy is. We're in the same boat though, both countries suck at rugby, just Canada more than Italy.

As far as rugby in the US is concerned, we used to get it on DirecTV on Setanta sports but that folded so we're SOL. Rugby has yet to find a definitive home here on TV but it will soon.

By the way, when I read the topic title I was expecting a discussion about fuzzy rugby balls and velcro mitts. Now that would be a sprot I'd like to practice.

I mostly play lock or blind side flank. i havce been known to be put in on the wing or at 8-man. yourself?
