Oh please. I'm sick of hearing that shit from people for over a decade now. Graves Misfits were awesome. Sorry.
It finally makes sense as to why you like club music; you've just always had a propensity to like shitty music.

The fact that you lump what I listen to strictly under " club music " as if it's remixes of top 40's pop shows how shallow your knowledge is of the genre. That's fine if you don't like it. It's not going to break my heart.

My bad, I'll fall in line and share the same opinion as you and many others instead of forming my own. Yes, Danzig Misfits only. Dur. Of course.

Also not really sweating your opinion of my musical taste considering what you yourself listen to, sir. :)

So now that we've had our jabs and our say, we'll have to agree to disagree.

Minus iwabo, I have nothing to be criticized for, mr. snooty pants. I like how you keep pointing out how you get shit for the music listen to; I'm just saying, though.

RAC never did much for me, even ignoring the politics. Now, I rediscovered Dropkick Murphys last night...

Reppin' for Moss Icon. Lyburnum is one of the finest early post-hardcore records you'll ever here.

Here is my list of punk, post punk and post-post-punk-new-wave bands I love:

Big Country, first and foremost and forever.
The Chameleons
The Waterboys
The Alarm
REM
Th Cure
Wang Chung (trust me, they were a punk band)
I consider Motorhead a punk band, they are so dissimilar to the metal I like.
The Misfits
Samhain
The Skids
The Clash
some Ramones

I love how punk created a lot of bands that were so far away from punk that it really made the whole thing worthwhile. If punk were the ramones, the clash and the sex pistols, it would be a very awful experiement in music, but every band took it to another place and eventually we got great overproduced pop records, like depeche mode and the pet shop boys out of it. I used to really hate punk until I realized how it had morphed into some of the stuff I love the most.

The muderdolls? I am a huge slipknot fan and think that album is a piece of shit. That is the opposite of a good idea. It's like if edsel dope made a punk album and was drunk, stoned and on a crack bender the entire time. I just really hate the bands that want to live in 1977 perpetually like punk stayed the same forever and only the sellouts advanced it to where it got.

It's funny, you never hear punks throw the clash to the wolves, but mention Falco, if they know who it is, and they will act like that whole scene never existed, the hypocrits.

It's like if us metal fans talked a bunch of shit about every NWOBHM band that didn't quit in 1983 or accused maiden with dickinson to be the same category as Damn Yankees or Bad English.

Motorhead is just a rock band. Louder, faster and dirtier than the average, but nonetheless.

E-mail Lemmy and ask him yourself.

I have listened to my share of punk, mainly due to the people I used to hang out with. Some of the ones I like the most are:

S.N.F.U.
Dayglo Abortions <-- debut still cracks me up
M.O.D
Bad Religion <-- probably my faves
D.R.I.
Lag Wagon
Pennywise
Dead Kennedys
NoMeansNo <-- The Worldhood of the World (As Such) is probably my fave punk CD
.. and of course The Misfits.

And yes .. Graves era Misfits is still top-notch punk rock even if the creative force behind the music is different.

Lemmy said he has always identified more with punk rockers than with metal bands and has also resisted any labelling of them as Metal. I in no way claimed they were a punk band, but that I lump them in there in my music collection because they are more similar to that than any of the metal I enjoy.

I've always seen him in interviews and whatnot adamantly eschewing any label other than rock n roll, at times in annoyance.
But, yeah, I remember they were one of the few long-haired bands that were accepted by punks back in the day.
Whatever, 'Head fucking rules, that's all that needs to be said.

I agree with you there. Motorhead are awesome. It took me a while to undestand that not the melody is in there, but hidden under a pile of rowdy and out of control rhythms.

Since nobody has mentioned it, if you can find anything by Raw Power (Italy), check it out.
Screams From the Gutter and Wop Hour is some good shit.

Never was much of a punk fan, but I do enjoy (old) Bad Religion and The Suicide Machines (or at least their debut album). Less Than Jake is okay, too. I may pick up Losing Streak someday.
