the part that pisses me off is that he is purposely talking like that to try and be funny.

If someone could do me a big one and recommend a bunch of prog rock, nwobhm, catchy/melodic avant-garde for newer thing. Stuff like that I would be happy. I'm pretty familiar with all those genres so leave out the basics :)

Anekdoten, specifically the album, Nucleus. That's all I have for now as I've forgotten a lot of prog rock I used to like.

And all this talk about clubbing, not listening to metal, and 'friends' makes me feel distant.

I find traversing through the various genres of metal, an occasional trip into 19th classical, and dabbling in grunge, dark-wave, and prog rock is more than enough variation. Actually, I find myself listening to a higher percentage of metal now then when I first broke into the genre, a decade ago.

When I was sixteen misanthropy was my way of rebellion; now, it would probably be a relief.

I used to hate clubs. Then I realized it was only because the clubs where I live are really, really shitty. After three weeks in Berlin I was something of a convert. Oh, and Ke$ha is fucking great. Sexy as hell and the album is really catchy. Plus she did a song with 3OH!3.

EDIT: Anyway, if you like that Happy Mondays stuff, check out New Order. I'm assuming I don't need to recommend Kraftwerk and the Prodigy, right?

I've only heard one Kesha song and it was mostly annoying but then there was one vocal wa-oh-wahah or something in the chorus that made my skin tingle a little.

Im not a big fan clubs, but my friends loves them so i go out with them, that and i live in fucking cancun so there isnt much else to do around here.

Now one thing is going to the club, getting hammered, spend time with your firends, meeting hot chicks and tolerate the fucking music and something else entirely is to wake up the next day and still want to listen to that crap.

Isn't ke$ha the cluck that sings "The party don't start till i show up" and talks about using Jack Danials as mouthwash? If so UGGGGGGHHHHH. That's one of the most obnoxious songs ever.

If you like modern day In Flames you never really were "On the Metal" in the first place. Hell shitty dance beats and Anders using Autotune is probably the next step for them anyways.

Oh man. Another rip on In Flames. Thank you for your input stuck in the past closed minded metal guy who was whining about not being able to listen to a few albums to stay current. I consider your opinion very valuable.

lol. I've been hearing the same shit for the decade plus I've been listening to them.

Not every night at the club is a good one. I'm not into the Lil Wayne remixes or whatever, I'm mostly into electro and variations of house... I'm not talking about the top 40 pop hits like that Keesha crap when I'm talking about dancing at the club. There's some really legit DJ's out there for sure, as I posted in my OP.

No sir, but it has been ages since I've listened to Prodigy. Good suggestion.

fuuuck dude, I'm listening to "Trigger" right now and it really is godawful. I remember buying "Reroute to remain" and "STYE" on the same day and thinking this was some innotative shit though. I don't hate the band, and I reviewed "The Jester race" yesterday for MA. They are just good ole' nostalgia that and Friden should be shot for being the worst vocalist ever.

I understand son. I too adore the Europop on "Cloud connected" too, don't fret there is always Dark tranquillity.

She also sings "don't be a bitch with your chit chat/just show me where your dick's at". I hope she becomes a major cultural influence on today's womenfolk.

Oh, and as I said before, she did a song with 3OH!3, so +100 points right there anyway.
