It's rather a pity for the Goregrind genre that the greatest thing it could come up with was released over twenty years ago.

Oh come now; there's some gems amidst all the dull Carcass clones. Carnal Diafragma and Prosthetic Cunt being two good examples... but I digress.

This album probably has some of the ugliest riffs I've ever heard, which sort of makes up for the kitsch yet creative lyrics. It's also surprisingly diverse; an aspect other goregrind bands seem woefully devoid of, due to shit songwriting skills and pointless blasting.

All in all a true classic, just like their debut and this album's successor.

What, even Necroticism and Heartwork? Kinda impossible to hate, I'd have thought. Why the dislike?

this one's alright, I understand why it's a classic though.

necroticism is my favorite by them, heartwork is good to.

Classic indeed. IMO pretty much every Carcass album is a classic.

As much as I agree with the first paragraph, there are some exceptions. I checked out Torsofuck's Raped By Elephants and I have to admit that it has a killer riff:

I'm a bit late but +1

Watching Carcass evolve from album to album is a bit mind boggling, if not enlightening.
