Latin was pretty much always in Metal, long before DsO. People just think it's "cool" for whatever reason.

I'm not THAT Black Metal expert, but as far as I know, Black Metal was ALWAYS about satan stuff. That's why it's called "Black" Metal. Not for the cold winter atmosphere of Immortal, not for the viking style of Bathory, but for the satan stuff from Bands like Venom, early Bathory, Hellhammer, Mayhem, Darkthrone and so on.

Just because it once was doesn't mean it always has to be.

Then you shouldn't call it Black Metal, but Extreme Metal or Dark Metal or whatever. :lol:

Development, change, and progression don't require a new moniker. Especially not in terms of just the theme of the music as opposed to the actual style.

As for the latin, I always just imagine some random words from a mass or an exorcism with electric guitars in the background and it's understandable as to why bands like it so much. Like in supercharger heaven, the whole 'ex communicatus, ex unionus et deus'.
