anthrax are much better than the whole indie scene
playing the same 3 chords gets a bit repetitive u know

Difficult, dat. I don't think you really can, it seems to be both music that is made through independent labels, or bands that play styles that originated on independent labels. The Strokes aren't an independent band, but they definitely play indie.
