Might as well.

Gorod - Process Of A New Decline
Gory Blister - Graveyard Of Angels
Nile - Those Whom The Gods Detest
Obituary - Darkest Day
Ulcerate - Everything Is Fire

From the top o'me head.

Balls, forgot Gigan - Order Of The False Eye. That'd probably go in instead of Gory B.

1. Nile - Those Whom The Gods Detest

Umm... I can't think of any others. This year was more about the black metal, than anything. At least for me.

Check the Ulcerate out - very technical and intense - as well as the Gorod - very technical and melodic, awesome stuff.

1. Obituary - Darkest Day
2. Vader - Necropolis

that's all I have heard...

I have heard a few Nile songs from their new one, but I want to get the actual album and give it full listen. I am sure it will take top spot though, as what I have heard is awesome.

I'll definitely respond to this thread properly but as of now there are soooooo many great death metal albums this year I am going to have one hell of a hard time picking a favorites list. One of my most pleasant suprises this year is the wealth of quality offered up by both old and new bands alike.

Side note, anyone hear the new Enfold Darkness yet? I bought it off of Itunes the morning it came out, its pretty damn good tech death with a few other elements thrown in. :dio:

One thing for sure, for those of us into twisted and EVIL old school style death this has been a fantastic time to be a fan because the acolytes have kept the flame alive with some astounding releases! Graveyard, Feral, Lie in Ruins, Disma, Ascended, Mr. Death, Entrails, fatalist, Undergang, Claws, Eroded, My Own Grave, Slugathor, Tormented, Sanctification, Vomitory, Sinners Burn, Maim, Demonical, Fondlecorpse and Funebrarum. I know I'm forgetting alot and not counting all the great demo's and eps released.

I liked Gorod's Leading Vision, so I'll definitely be checking out their latest. Ulcerate... I haven't heard of until now. I'll give them a shot once I catch up on albums I already have.

Its funny, I do like Everything is Fire alot, but I think I'm the only person on the planet to prefer Of Fracture And Failure. Ulcerate is great all around though.

The one I listeded...

Nile - Those Whom The Gods Detest
Obituary - Darkest Day
Vader-Necropolis
Behemoth-Evangelion

And Hellwitch, if it's considered more death than thrash.

I need to listen more death before end of day... Gorod, Ulcerate, Lost soul are in my to listen list.

There's been good death metal albums this year? I really can't think of any that have been really outstanding off the top of my head.

Gorod for sure, I'm lacking in this category this year.

I'd say it depends on what side of the fence one stands on, but yeah this year has been a prolific and certainly enjoyable one for myself anyway. In fact there are tons of albums I have yet to fully find the time to appreciate and take in. I love my death and I've been bouncing around from the old gods to the new stuff to tech-ville to retro-revival to brutal schtuffs and another favorite of mine, slamming death. I've been quite occupied this year which has kept me from being able to invest more time/money on other genres like Thrash and Black.

1 - Nile - Those Whom the Gods Detest
2 - Be'lakor - Stone's Reach
3 - Fleshgod Apocalypse - Oracles
4 - Behemoth - Evangelion
5 - Vomitory - Carnage Euphoria

Disappointments - Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Vader

Still have to listen to the new : Hypocrisy, Kalisia, The Chasm, Dying Fetus, Miseration.

Man I'm behind on Death Metal this year.
