Krallice hasn't come out yet and it will be #1

Its ridiculously awesome. Easily the best black metal I have heard this year but runner ups would be wolves, drudkh and immortal.

Regrettably I am not proficient enough in my forrays into black metal so I've only heard a couple, those being primarily already listed. Alot of new stuff has come out this year though, so when I finally invest the time and effort to check it out I know I'll bet set for a while. One album that I thought was good is Urgehal, I love the fury behind it and the cover is cool. :dio:

The new Urgehal is pretty nice. I'll be uploading my review of it soon. I wouldn't have thought it would be even close to my top 5 bm of 2009 though.

It was in response to the OP. So...
"best black metal of 2009?"
"Fucking Krallice!"

Their riffs get me all excited in that weird way that Don Caballero's do but then they're playing black metal.

Which album did you hear? imo 2 is the only one where they really got their sexy dronegroove machine working in top form, although For Respect and World Class Listening problem rock pretty hard and What Burns Never Returns and American Don are pretty good. New one kinda sucked though.

Black metal is getting hipper and hipper. Terrorizer even ran a special issue all about it.

DO NOT WANT.

Krallice's first album was average as far as I remember...
