New Darkthrone is fucking good. The Cult of Goliath is an awesome album and the other past 2 albums are really good as well. Darkthrone is a great band and there new material proves it.

Man I have no problem getting through an entire album on their new material, some of it's more interesting to me than some of their classic material.

That might just reflect the quality of the older material rather than their newer.

The only Darkthrone album I dislike is Plaguewielder. New Darkthrone is heaps of fun and a big influence for my band.

Boo, I thought this thread was about the new Darkthrone album, rather than new Darkthrone being good.

What's wrong with Plaguewielder, Karmo? Not what I'd call their worst.

Yeah a new Mayhem would be awesome. Doubtful anytime soon though.

Depends what era of "new Darkthrone". For me nothing will ever beat the first five albums, and after Panzerfaust everything just went to shit as far as I'm concerned. It's not that I lost respect for them, but well...meh. However, I do think that the last two labums, F.O.A.D and Dark Thrones and Black Flags, were decent albums. But other than those last two I'm not a fan of the newer stuff.
