After Hellfire Club, his voice has done absolutely NOTHING for me. I think he's getting older, his voice is growing poorer, and at the same time he's trying to be FAR too over-the-top. Failsauce.

Now, OLDER Tobias Sammet, especially on Vain Glory Opera / Theater of Salvation / The first two Avantasia albums, is great. Not the Power Metal God everyone makes him out to be, but he has a damn good voice all the same.

As an avid Nocturno fan...I wholeheartedly disagree. He wouldn't fit the band at all, and as others have mentioned no one could fit MF better than King Diamond. I think that Emperor cover of Gypsy actually demonstrates that quite well. That cover wouldn't have been nearly as successful had Ihsahn not occasionally stayed at least somewhat in keeping with King Diamond's style. Nocturno's far too gritty for MF.

The fact that I can't even remember his voice means one of two things: he's not very memorable, or my memory is shit. And since I can remember my mother changing my diaper back when I was an infant (on multiple occasions, to boot), I'm leaning towards the former.

Yeah, but if Dave suddenly decided that he didn't want to do the singing any more and got some kid in to do it then it wouldn't sound like Megadeth any more. Dave's sneery vocals are as vital a part of the band as the guitars.

A part of that is true, irritating vocals for equally irritating vocals. I mean imagine Megadeth without the helium-inflated vocal chords that is the voice of Dave Mustaine
